From the old stall hokkien street famous hokkien prawn mee
Simply above expectation in this bowl of noodles.
Definitely taste better than it look.
Each mouth is enjoyment.
This is the minimum portion, it doesn't make sense but wtv
Pork ribs were v tender, the brine has some spices which hits you immediately despite it looking so plain. The chili is sth like soon Kueh chili, familiar but I don't rlly like it at all. However it's pretty good when you debone and mix because the pork ribs and the well cooked pig tail carry.
Prawn soup isn't what you expect from the reviews. It's actually quite thin, and not very intense, but the prawn head aroma is strong.
Overall I won't return but those who work/stay nearby are blessed to have a such solid prawn mee place in their vicinity
The soup is the star of this dish; so rich and flavourful, i could taste the sweetness from the prawn stock. The pork ribs were very good too; so tender and the meat could be pulled apart easily. One of the array of food stalls that you got to try at Hong Lim Complex Food Centre!
This is one of two stalls here that sells old school prawn mee and are still good. The soup is the cloudy old school type and full of prawn flavour. For $7 I’ve gotten a full bowl of prawns and pig’s tail. Mixed the noodles up with the chilli and it gets really tasty. The prawns are fresh and the pig’s tail is soft and tender. Glad that after so many years (since 1943) the art of good cooking has passed on well. 👍👍👍
Had prawn noodles $4 for lunch recommended by the plastic surgeon Woffles Wu in his book. He had it in his childhood and the stall still stands in Hong Lim #02-57 so I had to give it a go. Its decent bowl of prawn noodles. Love the chilli powder. And compared to another prawn noodles stall at circular road, this prawn noodles soup broth wasn’t as oily so its a plus point. Btw hong lim would be closing 2 months for repair works starting 1 Nov. So it reopens in Jan 2019. Will miss the nice food there. Hope to see the old hawkers back in Jan.
You can find this famous prawn noodle on the 2nd floor of Hong Lim Complex Food Centre for only $4 to $5.
