Back to favourite local food delight - Queensway’s laksa shop situated at lvl 1 right near the entrance. Remember vividly how I used to dine in here during secondary school days and just doing window-shopping for sports wear (where Nike bottles/FBTs was a trend back then 🤣)

Was contemplating between big ($7) or the small portion ($5) and which I got the latter option and I would safely say I love the chilli because it isn’t spicy for me LOL. The broth’s really addictive that makes every scoop of broth worth savoring for, leaving the bowl empty in no time 🥰💯

Janggut Laksa, large $7.50 from 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮 ⠀

📍133 New Bridge Rd, Chinatown Point, unit B1-49A, S 059413⠀

We used to travel specially to Queensway Shopping Centre to queue for 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮 but now they have open more outlets and can be found in Wisma Food Republic, Roxy Sq, 331 Paya Lebar Rd & even Chinatown Point! ⠀

In Chinatown Point, the aka carte Laksa are priced at regular $5.50 & large $7.50. We couldn’t resist our temptation so we had to order the large bowl😬. Noodles were cut shorter so no chopsticks were needed, there’s beansprouts, fish cakes, prawns and cockles! Laksa gravy were super fragrant with coconut taste, light and not too thick and jelak! Goes super well with their sambal chilli sauce too, it’s not too spicy and taste is just right! Super duper shiok and comforting! One of our to-go Laksa place whenever we have cravings! ⠀

They offer online delivery to your comfort doorstep too:⠀

Was very hungry so we went for the medium bowls. The small is at $4.50 and large ones at $6.50. Janggut Laksa’s been my fav laksa spot for years now. Love how their mildly spicy coconut broth is so rich and flavourful, yet not too thick. I always throw in more of their sambal chilli and definitely recommend to do so, for that extra oomph and spiciness. Their otahs ($1.30) are a staple side for most customers and they pair nicely with the laksa. The stall’s usually crowded, but the friendly aunties are very efficient!

This was a teeny tiny bowl of laksa and had only a few cockles in there (maybe 3?), was fresh tho. However, the small bowl didn’t come cheap. Taste was not bad! Quite rich and yet not jelak! I guess if you’re in the area, you can give it a shot? But I wouldn’t travel all the way for this.

First time trying and lucky I was going alone. There was a Long lunch crowd queue and I was lucky to get a seat fast.

The laksa is indeed rich and flavourful, yet not too jelat so you could actually enjoy the broth itself. The hum was fresh too!

The curry chicken and chicken cutlet rice looked great too. Shall try it next time!
