Nutty and just slightly acidic, the flat white here is full bodied and richly flavoured. I got the 8oz double shot ($6+), which provided a strong kick of caffeine! The milk was well steamed and smooth. All in all a really enjoyable cup of coffee, living up to its namesake :-)

Had high expectations for this item ($24+), which comes highly recommended. The base was an interesting medley of textures and flavours as it comprised a variety of grains, such as quinoa/ barley/ wheat. The wagyu itself was rather disappointing - it was dry and lacking flavour. Thankfully, the zucchini, tomatoes, mushroom and furikake added dimension to the dish.

Served with chunky mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and kale, the slow cooked beef cheek ($24+) was tender. The meat itself was very flavourful and paired well with the brown sauce. The breadcrumbs helped to give some texture to the meal!

Populus has two lunch sets to choose from! This is the beef ramen ($22+), with thin noodles similar to u-mian. The “Asian sauce” had a tinge of oyster sauce and vinegar! The braised beef was tender and fell apart easily, and was extremely flavourful. Interestingly, the wanton was filled with bacon and mushroom! It sure is a twist from the usual local fare. The set meal is particularly worthwhile as you get your choice of coffee (+$1 for ice, some exclusions) :-)

Populus has two lunch sets to choose from! This is the fried chicken burger ($22+), which came with chunky paprika fries. The brioche buns were dense but crispy and nicely buttered. Lightly battered, the chicken patty was surprisingly tender and juicy! The red cabbage and carrot slaw gave some acidity to cut through the otherwise heavy meal. The set meal is particularly worthwhile as you get your choice of coffee (+$1 for ice, some exclusions)! Wish they had more options available, but a good meal and rare indulgence nonetheless :-)

not a fan of how the bacon was handled but the creamy, moist scrambled eggs paired with buttery, flaky croissant were on point.
tad pricey but good flavour
