Really unique pairing of flavors here, with Tahitian vanilla ice cream and strawberry sauce with petals sprinkled all over.

Elderflower jelly took me by surprise how mild and delightful it was, whilst strawberries, pistachio crumb and pomegranate adds further textures, acidity and crunch. These components elevated the overall taste of this sundae.

Given how cleverly put together, for the portion, quality and pricing its recommended for sure. Ice cream waffles related are always such joy✨!

I went to Populus for dinner on a weekday, and got the 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 (𝐒𝐆𝐃$𝟐𝟔++), which is linguine in a homemade lobster bisque as the pasta sauce, accompanied with crabmeat and scallops! Overall, taste-wise this was a 9/10 for me - I really enjoyed it, other than the fact that the portion was HUGE for me (or maybe I’m just a small eater...) 🤭 However, the lobster bisque was well-executed, could really taste the sweetness of the seafood!!! 🤤 And as you can see they were pretty generous w toppings too 🤩 However, I did feel that prices were pretty steep, as I paid close to $31 nett for a main in a cafe! But this was really good so I guess no regrets ordering it bc really quality ingredients 👌🏼

I also got the 𝐈𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞 (𝐒𝐆𝐃$𝟔.𝟓𝟎++) - and while Populus has coffee in their name, I felt it was just pretty avg like a 6/10! Definitely still enjoyed it, but not the smooth/silky/nutty taste notes that I prefer heh.

I would go back to Populus to try their brunch items, which actually look really good 😍 And really, their seafood linguine is worth a try!!

💵: $19

🤔: Don't have much faith in cafes' waffles, but boy was the one here good!
Topped with a taaaaaaall swirl of strawberry earl grey ice cream, this was not only a treat for the tummy, but the eyes too!

💵: $12

🤔: Was initially leaning towards their fries, but instead we got this, but no regrets because the wings were fried well and marinated in a nice spicy and slightly sweet buffalo sauce

💵: $17

🤔:Croissant was flaky and buttery, egg was creamy and plenty
Bacon provided a nice saltiness to the dish, though that itself wouldn't have been filling so we added on avo and mushrooms!

Every time I visit Populus, the desserts keep outdoing each other! This time round, I tried the Sticky Date Pudding ($13) and it was excellent - one of the best I ever had actually. The pudding is warm, chewy and very fragrant. I like that it is not overly sweet, even though it is served with vanilla bean ice cream and dulce de leche sauce (sweetened milk sauce). The sticky date pudding is topped with cornflake crumbs for an extra crunch. I have a soft spot of warm desserts, and this will probably occupy a spot somewhere at the top of my list of favourites.
