A sweet, satisfying frozen treat of Black Forest sundae waffle ($18++) that’s perfect for ending a hearty meal at Populous. Seems like it’s a limited edition item so not sure how long it’ll last.

Emulating its cake equivalent, the sundae is made up twist of velvety dark chocolate and Tahitian vanilla ice cream, dark cherry and kirsch compote, blackcurrant coulis, mocha sauce, rich dark chocolate cake and popping candy. 🍰

This tasted as though I’m eating a real black forest cake with the cherry and kirsch compote and the blackcurrant coulis. I love the fullness of this dessert, the sweet and sour flavours and how’s it laden with chocolate. 🍫

The best way to enjoy this sundae entirely is none other than some freshly baked, crispy waffles (additional $5++). 🧇

It’s a rather rich and filling and I recommend that to share this with someone unless you’re eating this on an empty stomach. You’ve been warned.

Great food and great place to chill over a weekend brunch session

Came here for this first time and having a sweet tooth, I had to get their signature buckwheat pancakes. The staff were very friendly and the wait time was reasonable given the amount of customers. This thick pancake came on a skillet and was topped with berries, crumbs and berry compete. The pancake alone was very delicious, hot and fluffly. The crumbs on top gave it and extra texture and the sauce gave the pancake what it needed; the sweetness. The sauce was very flavorful and not too sweet as well. The tart berries helped to balance out the sweetness, making it a perfect dish. The pancake was actually very filling, unlike most pancakes. Would definetely come back to try their other dishes

Fridays are never too early for a good brunch. For those that are looking for where to eat, @thepopuluscafe is a place that I’d recommend.

Known for its rice and grain bowls, delectable brunch items, soft serves and coffee, I had The Populous Scramble which is a scrambled egg, bacon, fresh herb melange and feta croissant.

Don’t be deceived by the picture. It’s actually very wholesome and filling. The croissant was flaky on the outside while soft and buttery on the inside. Scrambled eggs were creamy and not too jelak (rich) that makes it easy for one to finish the dish without much issue. Bacon used here is back bacon although I personally prefer streaky bacon.

After all these years it’s been in operation, I’m still impressed by the menu selection and the quality of food here.

The Sticky Date Pudding used to be TO DIE FOR. But over the course of a few months, it seemed to progressively get sweeter and sweeter. It's still good but I would definitely hope they turn down the sweetness. The food is decent though variety seems limited and nothing to shout about. Truffle fries are a good side with the overly sweet pudding.

spring onion & corn pancake🥞, signature crispy succulent fried chicken thigh fillet, hint of cumin & house special ranch dressing
