I was pleasantly surprised with the wagyu tartare as they added satay sauce to the tartare. Interesting choice of sauce and it elevated the flavor of the beef. 😌😌 However, my lunch buddy didn’t like the satay sauce so it really depends on your taste preferences. 🤪🤪⁣

As for the grilled salmon don, no complaints about the grilled salmon and rice but would prefer more sauce/seasoning on the rice. ☺️☺️ ⁣

Can’t really go too wrong with some chocolate coffee to usher in the weekend, it’s Friday Friday gotta get down on Friday

Being around for some 4-5 years now says heaps, considering the volatility and high turnover rates of local cafes; and that @therefinerysg’s signature Refinery Gyudon’s been on the menu since day 1 shows just how reliably good this is. Each grain bowl comes topped with truffle shimeji mushrooms, tare marinated beef, pickled daikon, garlic chips, and an onsen egg. Very simple ingredients, with flavours and textures that balances out, it’s essentially a more modern take on the classic time-proven gyudon. If anything I found the rare sauce a wee sweeter than I’d prefer, but really there isn’t much to pick on with this grain bowl.

It features cold Japanese Inaniwa udon with crab meat, ebi and enoki tempura, served with Tom Yum consommé. Reminiscent of Korean's cold noodles Naengmyeon, the chilled Tom Yum Consommé was piquant and pretty intense in flavours despite its seemingly light consistency, but not too assertive, which paired well with the thin Inaniwa udon.

Available in 2 flavours - Macadamia or Praline, it can be a little sweet, but I thought it serves well as a post-meal drink. M

The waffles' golden brown crispy crust allow them to hold the ice cream really well and I really love the buttery edges. Although we didn't get to try the Hokkaido milk ice cream, this dark chocolate ice cream was decadent enough. The tart berry compote is an important acidic element of this dessert, and a more generous portion of it would definitely give it a better balance in flavour.
