Translated into English, Nasi Padang literally means Rice Table. The RiceTable attempts to give you the most authentic experience when it comes to Indonesian food, buffet style. For those of you who had Nasi Padang in Indonesia before, you would have experienced the way they serve all the dishes at one go, and how you would be given freedom to choose the dishes you want. At The RiceTable, their all you can eat lunch buffet consists of 15 dishes. They serve you all 15 dishes (+ rice) at once, each bowl consisting of the portion seated at the table. I passed on 2 dishes that we donโt eat, but featured in the photo are 13 dishes:
Javanese chicken soup, Tahu telor, curried tofu, Kang kong belachan, Indonesian fruit salad, chicken satay, otah, Ayam panggang, cucumber achar, beef rendang, curry chicken, sweet & sour fried fish and sayur lodeh.
All the dishes are really authentic and delicious. While their meats can be said to be pretty ordinary, what stands out would be the gravy for most of their dishes. Their gravies are mostly flavourful and adequately spicy. I personally liked the Ayam panggang and chicken satay. The curry chicken, curried tofu and otah were good too. For someone who doesnโt really eat Indonesian food, this buffet is an amazing opportunity to try different dishes all at once. Although it is way more expensive than ordering your usual Nasi Padang in a Coffeeshop, this really gives an alternative experience.. plus, itโs a buffet, so I think itโs pretty affordable. I have to admit that I was almost full after one round of dishes๐ plus, I appreciated how the food dishes were placed on metal warmers, makes the whole experience feel fresher as the food remain warm. Service was not bad, staff were polite and accommodating!

Go if you are feeling broke but want nice Indonesian buffet in Orchard area (read: endless Tauhu Telur / fried bean curd with fried egg drizzled with sticky sweet sauce). $19 nett charity price for lunch buffet. ๐The Rice Table, Singapore
There was a big group of male diners with super rich voice cords. Plus the low ceiling in the place, the noise level was extremely high. It was so difficult for us to hear one another & it was so tough for us to have catchup conversations over the meal ๐

Itโs nice to revisit rice table again after a hiatus for 10 years .
Itโs the same cosy place and food is still good.
The Tahu Telor alone is worth coming back for time and time again.
Crispy egg with toufu and then drenched with an aromatic peanut sweet sauce .
I was craving ricetableโs luxurious homemade peanut sauce that they use on their chicken satay so made a trip down and was Glad to get seats without much hassle .
The Javanese style chicken soup ,tahu telor , Sayur lodeh , Chicken satay In homemade peanut sauce, beef rendang and their homemade fruit salad in a sweet and sour vinaigrette were exceptionally good .
For a fuss free meal and for a free flow alar carts buffet at 18.95 NETT ( mind you ๐) in town , this was really value for money .
The restaurant had a nice ambience and is newly renovated so perfect for small gatherings and birthday / full month celebrations ๐
The warm fragrant crispy egg and airy soft tofu are drizzled with special sweet sauce, delivering an out of the world taste and texture. One can only repeatedly order this. This is part of the buffet spread at Rice table which is Super value for money at $19 nett (weekend lunch). It's like Tambuah Mas but buffet style at the same price.
