503 Wishlisted
As the reincarnation of the popular Taiwanese Zi Char Five Ten, The Salted Plum launched in March 2018 with a new menu that retains old signatures, and surprises with intriguing flavours. Never intending to replicate Taiwanese classics, The Salted Plum instead celebrates Taiwanese flavours, ingredients, and techniques while catering to the Singapore palate.

Must try for their burnt chilli chicken. Amazingly good and spicy level was alright. Pork chop was also good. Would visit again for sure.

Costs $10 but used Burpple Beyond's 1 for 1

Was really impressed by this. Pork chop was cooked just right, with just a very slight tinge of pink in the middle (relax that's fine). The pork was moist on the inside, and crispy on the outside. Amazing dish. One thing that could be done better would be to change the sauce at the side, perhaps to a sweet soy based sauce (or even plum sauce), because the mayo sauce they provided did not go well with the pork.

Bought this with Burpple Beyond 1 for 1, which makes this an affordable 2 dishes for 10 dollars. Heard good things about this place and I'm glad they lived up to the hype. It was fried well and seasoned beautifully with the typical Taiwanese popcorn chicken seasoning (most likely with msg, 五香粉, pepper), to give a nice umami kick!

πŸ“ˆ: 6.5/10

πŸ€”: Found this a bit too sweet for my liking, but my friends really enjoyed it. Meat was ready well-marinated and tender, plus it had the melt-in-your-mouth texture. Wouldn't order it for myself, but would still recommend it to people who like braised pork!

πŸ“ˆ: 6.5/10

πŸ€”: A normal bokchoy, not much to comment on. Probably a healthier version compared to tze char stores as these were blanched in water instead of being stir-fried.

πŸ’΅: $10

πŸ“ˆ: 7.5/10

πŸ€”: Tender, juicy chicken thighs which were not only well-marinated, the slight char taste added to the overall flavour. It had a slight lemongrass (???) scent to it, making it reminiscent of everything thai.
