From the Burpple community

it was really good!!! my friend got the hei bi pasta which came with a generous portion of 3 big prawns, and we ordered truffle fries too! the fries were fine, nothing too special about it. do note that there are very few seats and we ended up dining alfresco by the roadside. generally the portions werent really big and so it may be a lil bit pricey if you dont use the burpple 1f1 deal

Both waygyu and chirashi don was good, worth using burple 1-1. Was not so crowded on Mon night

When using burpple, only one order of this is allowed. And this was so enjoyable!

Beef was so tender and nicely seasoned, nice poached egg on top. Rice could have been slightly better though, didn’t leave much to remember. But great item on the menu! Staff also very friendly and attentive!

This was fairly enjoyable, even better for a one for one deal on burpple. Expected the fish to be slightly colder but it was still ok. Thick chunks of fish and smaller cubes of cucumber.

Saw that this restaurant is recently available on #burpplebeyond and had to give it a try! We got the Bara Chirashi Don ($28 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) and the Wagyu Beef Don ($32 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond).

Both portions were quite big, though we realised that it's mostly rice. The chirashi don came with rather huge chunks of salmon and tuna pieces which were pretty fresh! I liked how the rice is seasoned lightly with vinegar, making it extra tasty with the sashimi pieces.

Though we felt like the beef slices were rather thin in the wagyu beef don, they were indeed tender and flavourful. Wished that the rice can be drenched in a certain sauce, as it was a tad dry eating it alone.

Food may be okay, but we felt like its abit pricey without the burpple beyond discount. Wouldn't be too sure that we will be back without the discount!

Looking for a new hangout spot? The Tipsy Tavern at Maxwell Road might just be it. Cafe by day and gastropub by night, this joint prides themselves in everything from artisanal coffees, teas, and pastries, to fusion dishes, rotating craft beer taps, and handcrafted cocktails. If you’re there for a meal, be sure to grab their Bara Chirashi Don ($28) that’s loaded with marinated salmon and tuna sashimi, cubed Japanese cucumber, rice, an onsen egg, and some tobiko and ikura to boot. This one’s guaranteed to satisfy!
