SUPERRRRRRRRRR JIGGLY and SMOOTH soya bean curd within the solid not too thick crust!!! OISHI I LOVE IT ESP STRAIGHT OUT OF THE FRIDGE!!! Anyway they have amazing blue pea coconut rice and KUEHS too!

Prawn paste chicken nasi lemak @ $8.90

Not bad a portion for this price, includes rice, prawn paste chicken, crackers, peanuts and ikan bilis, salted egg fish skin, sambal chilli, egg and achar.

The chicken is nice and crispy but has got more skin and batter than meat. The prawn paste taste is quite subtle.

The chilli is good with the rice and chicken.

Everything else is quite average, not bad but nothing to rave about too.

Also got tahu goreng @ $5.90 which is quite generous in portion and has a good tinge of spiciness, not too bad.

Might go back to try other flavours or dishes but probably only when out of other food options.

Excited to see another new restaurant opening in Woodlands at Woods Square.

They first opened at Changi Business Park and now go all the way to north. For the price of $8.90, I was surprised with the portion of this.

The prawn paste chicken was really huge and feel very full after having it. You could find the taste of prawn paste with it and quite consistent across every bites.

It is also coming with other items on the plate such as the nasi lemak, egg, ikan bilis, sambal sauce, achar and salted egg fish skin.

Quite excited to hear about The White Tiffin’s newest outpost at Woods Square β€” still remembered how much I have liked them when I last visited their Changi City Point outlet back in 2019; so it was definitely something that I was looking forward to check out when they had opened their doors in the neighbourhood.

Still pretty much in their soft launch phase, there were some items that are not yet available until a later date β€” that includes items such as Shrimp Sambal Fried Rice, Salted Egg Chicken Rice with Egg, and the Durian Pengat. Found myself going for the very item I have had the last time round at Changi City Point β€” the Nasi Lemak with Prawn Paste Chicken. Not sure if it was because it had been quite some time since the previous visit, but I did feel that the quality was not consistent β€” the Woods Square outlet’s execution was generally on the lighter side in terms of flavour. That being said, the blue pea coconut-infused rice was sufficiently moist without being too wet nor mushy β€” pretty fluffy and whiffs of a light hint of coconut-y fragrance; the sambal being a good accompaniment being a balance of sweet and spicy whilst being pretty manageable for those even with lower tolerance of spiciness. The batter of the prawn paste chicken may be somewhat on the thicker side, but it does appease those who are looking for that crunch β€” the meat is all juicy and tender within, and comes with just a slight hint of umami-ness from the prawn paste used in its marination. Other elements were also pretty decent; the Ikan Bilis and pappadum still retaining its crispness (some places serve up nasty, limp papadums), while the salted egg fish skin was a crowd pleaser bringing a saltish crunch; the half-boiled egg was nothing much to shout out about, though the achar felt extremely peanut-laden and lacked the sour-ish notes of pickled vegetables that is supposed to refresh the taste buds.

Whilst this was not a bad plate of Nasi Lemak, I did feel like there was something missing in this one as opposed to the one we previously had at Changi City Point β€” perhaps they might still be trying to figuring out their operations in view of their official launch. Still, I am pretty willing to give them a try another day as they ease into their new location; quite excited to give their other items such as the Nonya Kueh selection and the Durian Pengat a try!
