From the Burpple community

Weekends are for redemptions of burpple beyond tea time deals when I see them. I vaguely recall seeing the whole kitchen’s produce at some grocery store but this would have to be my first time at a cafe offshoot of the brand.
For the healthy conscious, the menu is gluten free (something I’ve yet to figure the exact meaning of). My cakes came with very low sugar content and choke full of healthy ingredients (nuts, dark cocao and chocolate). My spoilt, used to sugar laden desserts, palate was not used to these healthier cakes; reminding me how I should be keeping my sugar intake in check 😬

Latte was smooth and fragrant - it was quite standard but definitely was a solid cup of coffee.

We visited on a Saturday morning and it was quite crowded! Would recommend going early to avoid queues and secure seats. They don’t take reservations, unfortunately. There’s limited seating indoors and some seating outdoors, probably not ideal for larger groups.

Avocado on sourdough 7-seed loaf, it’s impossible to go wrong with this heavenly combination. It was very refreshing and comforting.

Similarly to their banana toastie, the serving was small in this dish as well. I definitely think $18 is very pricey for what you get, but fortunately we used the Beyond 1-for-1 deal for it, making it more affordable. I probably wouldn’t order this again because I personally don’t think it is worth the price.

Bananas with house-made peanut butter and cacao spread, spread on the cafe’s country classic loaf, and toasted till crispy. It tasted very wholesome, not too sweet at all.

I liked that you could taste each component of the toastie, as I initially thought that the spreads or bananas might potentially overpower the overall taste of the dish - it didn’t, to my pleasant surprise!

It was a really small serving though for the price you pay, but with the Beyond 1-for-1 deal it wasn’t so bad. I probably wouldn’t order this again because I personally don’t think it is worth the price.

Banana toastie (4 ⭐️; $14) - Breakfast toast with housemade peanut butter, hazelnut cocoa spread, and soft bananas in country classic bread. We appreciated how this was warm, toasty and way less sweet & buttery/oily compared to most places. If nitpicking, we found that the banana and peanut flavours dominated over the hazelnut.

Mumbai sandwich (4.5 ⭐️; $15) - Definitely recommend their best seller! Two well-toasted gluten-free country 7-seeded slices held together a mix of coriander chutney, chaat masala, cucumber, tomatoes and cheese. The combination was spot on. We especially loved it with their tomato kasundi sauce made from various Indian herbs and fresh tomatoes for extra flavour punch. Shoutout to their bread btw! We usually find gluten free breads too dense and tasteless, but this was unexpectedly nutty and pleasantly QQ in texture.
