Visited TWGF for lunch and the Bah Kut Teh Risotto really blew me away. The set lunch was really value for money and great service from the staff as well!!

A one minute walk from Outram Park, The Wine and Gourmet Friends is a quaint resutrant that is tucked away beside Dorsett Singapore. I opted for the Set Lunch ($30) with 3 courses - Truffle Cambert, Iberico "Bah Kut Teh" Risotto and the Olong Ice Cream. My sister opted for the Crab and Uni Risotto. The Bah Kut Teh risotto was absolutely delicious with a traditional creamy risotto acting as a base to the roasted, juicy pork bone ribs. The Bah Kut Teh twist to the risotto adds a pleasant teochew twist that elevates the typical risotto. The truffle camembert was also an experience that I highly recommend those interested in the Chartreuse experience to try out as its small size still allows you the taste the depth of flavours of the mildly sweet, savoury and nutty without being overwhelmed by the typical size of a chartreuse board. To end off the meal, I opted for the Olong ice cream which had a rich bitterness of tea to compliment the sweet cream. Definitely recommend trying it out if you're not interested in having their savoury options.

This delightful risotto was very savoury and creamy. The uni was fresh and slightly sweet and the trout roe added an interesting texture with each bite! 😋

The immaculate, fall-off-the-bone tender Iberico ribs over a rich, creamy bed of warm risotto was definitely a perfect way to end off the year!

The choice of ingredients and preparation definitely showed the chef’s masterful skill by transforming a local classic into a truly gourmet experience while still retaining a rustic identity. 💯

I never would have thought that I could enjoy such a high quality meal in the comfort of my own home. Can’t wait to try out more of their dishes soon!

Who knew that ordering delivery for something as fancy as the Crab & Uni risotto could tantalise your tastebuds as much as dining within the restaurant?
I decided to try the crab & Uni risotto which was amazing! Let’s talk about the generous portions of the Blue swimmer crab,Uni, caviar, tobiko and ikura - the ingredients were all fresh and boy were they generous. Each mouth was filled with a different crunch and burst of flavours, the juiciness of the tobiko and ikura, the chunkiness of the crab and the sweetness of the Uni is as if you’re tasting the freshness of these ingredients right from the ocean. The mixed grain risotto gave an interesting bite with each mouth as well and certainly made me feel healthier. Will recommend!❤️ Enjoyed this dish so much.
