Here I have Mama Lucia’s ‘All in the Family’ Nasi Lemak set from Third & Sixth Bistrobar, which consists of Nasi Lemak Basmati, Cucumbers, Egg, Sambal, Beef Rendang, Ikan Kuning, and Chicken Wing. This was a good plate of nasi lemak overall; from the fragrant & aromatic basmati rice, to the fork-tender & flavourful beef rendang, and the nicely marinated chicken wing that had a nostalgic taste (as described by my mom), and finally their sweet & spicy sambal. I thought the individual elements were great on their own but they perfectly complemented each other too!

You can order this or their other food at thirdandsixth.oddle.me/. Available for both pick up and delivery.

@thirdandsixthsg is a little bistrobar known for “Burgers, Booze, and Balls-Out Music”. They have recently launched a new concept and is none other than our local favourite, Nasi Lemak! Born out of longing for his mum in Malaysia, 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐢 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐤 is downright simple, honest and so hearty it reminds me of home.

I tried 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 set, which consists of 𝙉𝙖𝙨𝙞 𝙇𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙠 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞, 𝘾𝙪𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙀𝙜𝙜, 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙡, 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙛 𝙍𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜, 𝙄𝙠𝙖𝙣 𝙆𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 and 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙜.

For me, the basics of a good nasi lemak is the fragrance and richness of the rice, complemented by shiok sambal chilli. For that, Mama Lucia’s Nasi Lemak definitely makes a good plate of nasi lemak with it’s rich fragrant, light and fluffy basmati rice, complemented by a sweet and spicy sambal.

Moving on from the basics, their sides such as Beef Rendang, Ikan Kuning and Chicken Wing completed the experience. Definitely try their fork-tender and flavorful beef rendang!

Overall, it’s nothing extravagant but a good plate of Nasi Lemak that’s down-to-earth and wallet-friendly. Check @thirdandsixthsg out if you’re up for a hearty and comforting dish that gives you the warmth of home-cooked food.

Featuring basmati rice 🍚, cucumbers 🥒, egg 🍳, ikan bilis, sambal🌶, chicken wing 🐔, ikan kuning 🐟 & beef rendang 🐄, this Nasi Lemak ($11.50) certainly makes a hearty meal!
Liked how fluffy the basmati rice was & most importantly, it wasn't oily! 💯 The chicken was well-marinated & the beef rendang was super moist & flavourful! 😋

For those who aren’t familiar with @thirdandsixthsg, they’re a little bistrobar known for their "Burgers, Booze, and Balls-Out Music". They have recently launched a new concept - Mama Lucia’s Nasi Lemak, which was born out of missing his mum and her trademark Nasi Lemak during the lockdown. Starting from SGD3, there are various options to choose from, including kid-friendly and vegan versions!

Guess what? Their Nasi Lemak actually turned out better than I expected. The main stars of the show, both the fluffy fragrant basmati & homemade sambal didn’t disappoint at all. Skip their Ikan Kuning, go for their Chicken Wing & Beef Rendang!

So, what’s new with Third & Sixth’s burgers? Well, they’ve changed the polarizing crusty burger buns which I personally liked to soft, fluffy artisanal buns that are universally liked.

Other than that, the ground beef patty is still the juicy and fantastically flavorful patty that I remember from my last visit. Slap on a rasher of beautiful bacon, a slice of majestically melted cheese and a dollop of barbecue sauce, and you’ll be in beefy bliss.

After more than a year of wanting to try Third & Sixth Bistro Bar, I finally managed to drag a few friends along with me to sample their offerings. Now, the only question is why it took me so long.

Their eponymously named No. 36 burger ($14) is beautifully crafted from a high quality beef patty that's tastefully thick and grilled to a cool pink medium rare (note to self: ask for it to be cooked medium the next time), followed up by a pile of strikingly sweet caramelized onions being laid atop the beef. A slice of cheddar cheese is then melted to marry the onions and beef together, followed up by two smoky rashers of bacon which are sensually draped atop the whole affair before the meaty menagerie is entombed by crusty, toasted multigrain buns.

The patty itself is a party in your mouth, due to it being superbly seasoned and tantalizingly juicy, before the creaminess of the cheddar and the savoriness and smokiness of the bacon elevates this beautiful beefy patty right into burger bliss. The bun is rather subjective, as one of my friends found it a bit too crusty for his liking while I personally enjoyed the crustier texture which contrasts well with the soft texture of the minced beef patty. Do note that the burgers are standalone, and the sides of fries come separately. And in all honesty, $10 for sweet potato fries and another $10 for shoestring fries with truffle mayonnaise on the side is kind of exorbitant.

Surprisingly, Third & Sixth was very quiet for a Saturday night, and service was excellent. In fact, the supervisor even had ample time to recommend us beers to go with our burgers, and the differences between Thatcher ciders. Overall, this Bistro is a choice venue to get your burger and boozing on at.
