More Reviews of good food at Thus Coffee (Jalan Kuras)

I decided to try this dessert ($15) before heading back to home. It's so good and strong bitter taste tbh for thick matcha sauce. But the lava cake was quite hard to cut through for letting the sauce to flow through. As the berry sauce was quite sweet and topped with fruit such as strawberry and blueberry and almond topping. But it's just out of way for heading down to cafe area as not near to mrt and need to go a bit from bus stop.

I'd return for this breakkie, the spinach goes well w the scrambled eggs

We love our fries! (+ bonus points if there’s truffle included 😉). If we’re talking about portion alone, This’ edition of truffle fries is definitely a 10/10. We took so long to finish that it became so cold haha but thankfully the staff helped us to heat it up again 💯

It was slightly packed when I visited on a weekend aftn but because the tables are well spaced out, I’d recommend it as a conducive space for friends to catch up with each other!

How could we visit Thus Coffee without trying out their filter coffees! The cafe roasts their beans in-house and today, they were serving an Ethiopian blend for their filter coffee. The coffee was served piping hot and it tasted slightly sour at the start, although it seemed to have a little more fruity aftertaste when it has cooled down and we were near the bottom of the cup. Pretty interesting and definitely heartwarming to have this on a rainy day!

We have heard a lot about Thus Coffee but given it's slightly-inconvenient location at the Sembawang Hills area, it was hard to find a chance to visit! We finally had the chance to head down today and we were pretty impressed by it's quaint and cosy interior. Even though it was a rainy weekday afternoon, the cafe was surprisingly still pretty crowded!

We got a crowd favourite for lunch - the prawn aglio olio! The dish uses linguine and a really generous amount of garlic, coupled with mushrooms, (pretty big) prawns and a decent serving of cut chillies. Pasta texture was just right and it wasn't too hard or too soggy, although we thought that the serving was a little small for the $19++ paid for this dish. The prawns were big, although we suspect that they were of the frozen variety, although this is small matter to us. The dish wasn't that spicy but if you are unable to take spicy food, you might want to tell the staff to reduce the spice level even further!

Had order Chicken cutlet jjolmyeon, Prawn aglio olio, Garlic carbonara, Truffle fries & Sweet potato fries. Definitely worth the price! Food by far one of the best I have so far. Nice ambience too.

My Rating:
1. Chicken cutlet jjolmyeon 2.5/5; love their chicken cutlet but noodles.. so so..

2. Prawn aglio olio 4/5; flavourful definitely a must try for those spicy/aglio olio lovers

3. Garlic carbonara 4.5/5; My most favourite dish, esp when adding a hint of Tabasco sauce in it 💙

4. Truffle fries 3.5/5; quite amazed that the fries still remains crispy even after it cool down. Not like those which will turn soggy. But can be better if the truffle taste is stronger!

I had the chicken cutlet with Korean noodles dish! It was very hearty and true serving was substantial. The chicken was perfectly cooked, very crispy on the outside but very tender and soft on the inside!! :) I was afraid the noodles were gonna be too spicy for my liking but it was just right!

First time here and was impressed with the food! We ordered the chicken stew and truffle fries and they did not disappoint. The stew was delicious and chicken drumstick was tender, the bread was crispy too. Will come back here again!

Dishes Ordered:
1) Salmon Grain Bowl
2) Prawn Aglio Olio
3) Truffle Fries
4) Matcha Latte

Quaint little cafe located in a residential area, the cafe has a very homely vibe.

Dishes are not too bad; pleasant enough. Truffle fries aren’t trufflely enough. Price point is your typical cafe pricing.

This place is not the most accessible without a car.

Salmon Grain Bowl ($20)
• the portion is huge
• really like the quinoa and barley combination, the different texture every mouth
• cucumber is refreshing for every few bites
• overall the combination of food is great and would recommend this

Truffle fries ($10)
• portion is generous and great truffle taste in every piece

Ginger Latte ($6.50)
• aromatic, something special
• didn’t know what to expect, but this is not bad
• ginger taste is quite strong, so may be a thing for people who likes ginger

Not a easy to find place, though the cafe atmosphere is good and the coffee there is highly recommended

We tried the Chicken Stew ($16) and Scrambled Lyonnaise ($16 + $3 for sausage). The food was generally tasty and well-prepared. Prices were decent as well (and NETT pricing)! The Apple Cider sausage that we added to the Scrambled Lyonnaise was really hard 😫, otherwise the dish was great! Chicken stew was good too.

Usually use burpple for reviews but hardly post cause I am lazy. This place definitely deserves a post from the lazy me! Super good food, the toast from the chicken stew was great, the chicken cutlet from the spicy noodle was tasty. Green shot (matcha with espresso) nice too :) will definitely go back again!

Featured in the picture - the Chicken Stew ($17) and the Chicken Cutlet Korean Noodles ($18)!

the Chicken Stew wasn’t as thick & hearty as I would’ve liked but nonetheless the flavours were there. the bread was toasted nicely and the chicken was extremely tender!

the chicken cutlet was really good, fried to perfection and not overly oily. the spice level is extremely extremely mild. the noodles were the standout factor for me - springy and soft!

all prices were nett so total bill for both items came up to $35! very affordable quaint cafe, would recommend coming!

Serve pretty decent coffee here. Not very accessible but makes a great place to spend the afternoon over desserts and coffee.

Quaint cafe in a quiet neighborhood. Flat white was great. Smooth and not acidic. Green spot was also spot on! Matcha lava cake on the other hand was a tad pricey for the serving. Overall pretty good experience.

There is this cafe located at Sembawang Hill Estate, serving some of their signature coffee, main and dessert.

Many people were recommending their chicken stew and I agree on that. Two piece of chicken that was juicy and lots of meat. Accompanied the stew would be their wholesome bread. Pretty much a comfort food for dinner. $17

hidden cafe behind Sembawang Hills Hawker Centre. Ambience was cosy, service was 7/10. coffee was so so but the dishes were really good. not too pricey as well, prices seem on the menu are nett. food quality was 8.5/10, portions were substantial!! overall, would definitely go back again!

The star of the Scrambled Lyonnaise was indeed the scrambled eggs. Cooked to a perfect combination of runny and firm texture, its the perfect scrambled egg we were looking for. The potatoes reminded us of potatoes you get in a curry puff, which wasn't a bad thing.
We added on an apple cider sausage (+$3) which definitely made the meal more complete!

The Hearty chicken stew was pretty good as well. The chicken was really tender although a little bland. The stew was creamy and surprisingly not salty. I loved the bread which was soft and had a crispy crust.

Overall a satisfying meal. The ambience was pretty good although this place is a little hard to get to.
