Squeezing in one SG post between my PH feed flood ๐Ÿ˜†

We had the Chaoshan beef hotpot served with 4 soup bases (ox tail, mala, tomato, and mushroom). Personally loved the ox tail for its richness (though could border to a bit salty but can always counter w the veggies), and mushroom with its earthiness

The set comes with beef maltique striploin and black pork. Both come very handy on making our hotpot experience enjoyable. Rest of the set offerings are the usuals (prawn, shrimp paste, veggies, golden mushroom, beancurd skin, etc)

Unlike other hotpots wherein the default dipping sauce is with sesame, we were provided shacha sauce which I surprisingly liked. Was taken aback a bit on my first dip but immediately acquired the taste - quite similar to other dried shrimp paste in PH

Promo price is quite reasonable as itโ€™s good for 4. Might wanna add a few more orders on the side to ensure full tummies ๐Ÿ˜›

Thanks again @tianfangpavilionchaoshanhotpot for hosting and @burpple for the invite! ๐Ÿค

For those who would prefer something cool and yet filling at the same time, their Korean Cold Noodles (S$9.00) was one of the two carbs dishes that was available. Though it was refreshing given its serving temperature, in my limited knowledge of Korean cuisine, it did not quite taste like an experience I would get from an authentic Mul Naengmyeong. Nonetheless, if cold noodles would be something that you would look for to fill your stomach, this dish might just meet your expectations.

The ambience here at Tianfang Pavilion Chaoshan Hot Pot was very conducive on a weekday night. Not sure if it was because the restaurant was less heard of or because it was slightly away from the heart of Chinatown restaurants, but I thought it was a nice environment for a hearty hotpot dinner.

Some tables allowed for two soup bases to be selected, while those for bigger tables have room for four. While they offered Spicy soup base (S$16.00 for single soup base, up to S$20.00 for two), the level of spiciness differed from my usual encounters at other steamboat restaurants. In fact, since the soup bases were mostly more authentically flavourful with meat broth, they also tasted delicious at any point during the meal without being too salty.

For those who wanted a just a quick meal, the restaurant also provided individual hot pots with one soup base, for only S$5.00!

Overall felt that the serving was on the small side, more suitable for 2 pax than the recommended 4 pax. Was recommended ๆฒ™่Œถ้…ฑShacha sauce (commonly used in Taiwanese cuisine, made of soybean oil, garlic, shallot, chilli, brill and dried shrimp) as dipping sauce. Out of the 4 Soup bases, I preferred the mushroom soup which had a slightly earthy taste.

Drop by @tianfangpavilionchaoshanhotpot for quality beef in delicious broth. The beef are imported from Japan and Australia. Go for the handmade bouncy beef balls as well. For the broth, we recommend the Beef Tail and the Tomato broth!
