Debated between the original, plain radish cake vs this because of the significant mark-up in price. Well, the price premium certainly did come from the additions of prawns, generous portion of eggs, beansprouts and chives… too? I was delighted to find the same kind of radish cake (as in the plain version) was used in this dish! Portion is a tad huge, so this is good for sharing.

I took a bite of this with some apprehension, wary that it might taste tough and rubbery. That would’ve been rather disappointing! Much to my surprise, it was well seasoned, crispy and rather succulent! For a thinly cut piece of meat, it’s easy to have it overcooked/fried. We also liked how it’s marinated with a light coat of garlic-infused batter. So fragrant! While there were some spurts of oil here and there, it wasn’t overly cloying nor oily - manageable amount of oil and calories!

A HK classic, this tasted as expected. Love how there’s chunky pieces of charsiew in there!

I love sesame balls but I've only had the peanut ones, I didn't know that there were balls with salted egg filling! Was so excited to try these.

The balls are extremely oily. They are basically soaked in oil, both inside and out, making them extra indulgent. The sesame ball was really chewy and had the same texture as mochi, except tougher. The salted egg filling was surprisingly sweet and had little sugar crystals inside, I think? It was also slightly grainy.

The filling isnt as flowy after refrigerating and reheating so if that's what you prefer, have it fresh! It becomes much grainier after reheating. I still really enjoyed these but the amount of oil definitely makes it a snack to enjoy only once in a while.

There's a very thin polo crust on top, providing it with a crisp, lightly sweet exterior. The bread itself is a little bit on the drier side, but it wasn't an issue because it went well with the bbq pork filling.

The bbq pork had that sweet, signature "quality restaurant meat" taste to it. Really love it! Such a good bun but omg so expensive :( probably wouldn't get it on my own unless there's some promo (I know that Shopback occasionally has that 3 for $4.50 promo but it's only for dine in and I want to dabao haizzz)

The noodles were springy which went really well with the pork chop. Surprisingly the pork chop was tender, well marinated and flavourful, definitely comparable with Din Tai Fung’s. Would wish for the pork chop to be slightly thicker though.
