$6.20 for a box of 3

The best baked version of char siew baos! Although the filing is little but the crispy fragrant crust make up for that.

Really disappointed by Tim Ho Wan (Plaza Sing)’s dishes...

The skin of the har-gow & chee cheong fan are just so thick, even those from Kopitiam/ hawker can win these easily...

The 3 pcs of siew mai just stick together like as if some frozen ones I can get from the supermarket and steam them together...

The fried rice are hard like as if the rice weren’t properly cooked before they fried it...

The char siew bao are a little too sweet n gelak...

As for the mini egg tarts, decent but not anything special...

To be honest, I don’t even know why there’s a queue...

I doubt I will go back again, I find it a waste of my calories intake and $...🙊

Damage: $47.32 (inclusive of svc charge & GST)

Suaku me first time to tim ho wan🙊
Favorite dish among the ones we ordered is the spinach dumpling with shrimp, the transparent skin is very thin and q q, with lots of ingredients (veg and prawn!) inside😋

I know enough has been said about Tim Ho Wan .
Passing remarks are usually - it’s not great but good enough .

And indeed the same for these mushroom and mixed vegetables rice rolls. I wouldn’t say they were the best but they are definitely good enough. The rice rolls were pretty smooth and not overly thick but I would have liked them to be a little more QQ. The saving grace was perhaps the nicely julienned mixed vegetables and tasty mushrooms as well as the very addictive HK soy sauce that is poured over the rice rolls when they arrive at your table.

Good enough place to rest your legs and get a quick meal when the Hk food craving acts up.

I would have liked them to bring back the plain rice rolls with sesame and sweet sauce though. . . I felt those were better 😍

Little bit on the high side price wise but a must order for me at Tim Ho Wan. Soft rice rolls filled with fresh shrimp and leeks with a light soy sauce. Very good, simple preperation of good produce. Recommended!

Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf ($5.80)
.
Probably the most enjoyable glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf I’ve had from @thwsingapore . The glutinous rice is so moist and well cooked and the wrap is chock full of filling from pork slices to mushrooms to chinese liver sausage. The glutinous rice is best eaten with some amount of that savoury and sweet gravy.

Baked BBQ Pork Buns ($5.30)
.
Since day one, these pillowy buns with a chewy interior and a crusty top filled with honeyed pork filling from @thwsingapore always had me reaching out for a 2nd helping. Something so seemingly simple can be so deeply gratifying.
.
Special mention also to that sinfully addictive braised chicken feet with abalone sauce ($5). The chicken feet is so well braised and fully infusing that umami abalone goodness without turning its texture overly mushy. Even the accompanying beancurd skin is a delight to slurp up with the sauce.

Fried Taro Dumplings ($5.50)
.
Seasonal item @thwsingapore not available at all branches so I’m always delighted to see this available at the branch I am visiting. There have been several versions of this taro dumplings from Tim Ho Wan with the best being the one with chilli crab filling. These taro dumplings were instead filled with curry-esque flavoured pork slices. Overall, I would always order this for its fragrant and flaky yam pastry shell.

Mmm... Could use a bowl of this right about now. My must-order with every visit to THW, this smooth congee is just downright tasty with the salted and century egg combo! Perfect between mouths of their dim sum when you need something lighter.

Who's in the mood for dimsum!? 🙋 😉

🍴 Glutinous Rice Dumpling
🏠 Tim Ho Wan, Plaza Singapura
💰 S$5.00 [or 6? Need to double check on that]

Hope everyone had a great one with their beloved mothers! 😚 Flashback to this eye catching Tim Ho Wan's new item, fried milk custard. The salivating and rich milk custard burst blissfully in our mouth upon the first bite.

But sometimes we have to come to terms with the fact that some meals are just gonna be mediocre. If I have my way I'd rather not eat and save my calories. TBH, it's not terrible, it's just not as wow as the HK one. The current non existent queue proves it. Next time I'll just get my Dimsum fix at @kaigardensg.

Minced dace fish ball is not easy to find here and this dish is their monthly special. If you like fish balls you may want to try this. If Dace fish is easily available here then the yong tau foo made from it will be nice. This dish is tasty but not crunchy to bite. Nonetheless it's good. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 August 21.

To me the Singapore Tim Ho Wan is not as good as its HK branches. However their individual dishes can be interesting. Like this porridge which has salted egg added in which enhances the overall taste. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 August 21.
