Must come at the right time to get this Putu Ayu before it's sold out.

Second time having Galicier's kuehs! My favs are the kueh dardar ($0.80/piece) - really soft chewy skin wrapped around joosy coconut shreds (you can really feel the juice oozing out as you bite into it); and kueh kosui ($0.80) - super soft and kinda melt in your mouth, with a nice coffee flavour. Kueh salat ($1.10) was decent but I've had better, while the tapioca cake ($0.70) was a bit too firm/coarse for my liking. Tried kueh ambon/honeycomb cake ($1.40) for the first time, and while it was interesting it wouldn't be my first choice of kuehs to buy. It has a subtle lemongrass(?) taste and wasn't very sweet, but kinda oily. Nice honeycomb structure tho!

The base of this putu ayu is dense pandan sponge cake, with one side is gula melaka and the other side is coconut, not overly sweet.
A bit pricey 1 for $1😅, But I still will buy it if I'm at Tiong Bahru Area.😆.
💰$6.

Tiong Bahru Galicier will never fail to pop up if you are hunting for traditional nyonya kuehs. But due to its popularity, it can be difficult to catch specific kuehs, like this one that I have been missing out for a long time. Set on a moist, fluffy Pandan sponge base, the Putu Ayu appeared dense but sank in nicely with a good balance of airiness. There are 2 flavours on top; half with gula melaka that’s was stronger in flavour than the other half with white desiccated coconut. Personally preferred the gula melaka for the sweeter kick and the white desiccated coconut seemed more suitable for their kueh dardar.

🍴Have always only gone for their Kueh dar dar and putu ayu but decided to try their #fattgou (huat Kueh)after seeing another review that these aesthetic and cute kuehs had fillings inside. Maybe we had too high expectations as we were disappointed by the minimal amount of fillings, especially in the yam & pandan versions, and would have preferred if there was more to enhance the flavour profile. While the fillings (green - pandan, purple - yam, pink - strawberry) were tasty, the kueh itself lacked flavour. We also found the strawberry one to taste more artificial & sweet. Texture-wise, they were soft but slightly dense, and we would have preferred if they were more airy. Would probably still stick to their putu ayu, ondeh ondeh, and Kueh dardar in the future 😅
