Went to Tipo Pasta Bar last week and ordered their Linguine (Chilli Garlic) and built my own pasta - Pink Sauce, Garlic Chips, Smoked Chicken, Swiss Brown Mushrooms ($17.90 before GST and Svc Charge)!😇

Overall ratings 8/10! Pasta was not bad but nothing too fancy🥹 Flavour of the pasta itself mentions chilli garlic too but it dosen't taste like it (staff did mention that the flavour is very mild tho haha) Would visit again only if I am craving for pasta😅

Visited Tipo Pasta Bar for the first time!

Realised that their pasta menu is actually very similar to Tipo Strada! Both outlets have the build your own pasta menu! The only slight differences for the pasta menu is the fixed bowl where their selections are slightly different!

Here is what I tried this time round:
-Absolute Alfredo for Gemelli (parsley pasta) [$17.90++]: Love their creamy white sauce! This came with swiss brown mushrooms and chicken (which was more like steamed chicken to me than "smoked chicken")
-Build your own pasta: Linguine Chilli Garlic Pasta + Aglio Olio + White Clams [$14.4++]: Free toppings were included and we added ALL and it was a WRONG choice lol! The toppings added were chilli flakes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic chips and birds eye chilli. The addition of the birds eye chilli and chilli flakes plus it was a chilli garlic pasta SUPER FIERY! I couldn't stomach more than 3 scoops of it whoops! Lesson learnt, just stick to adding garlic chips only the next time!

Filled with mushrooms, truffle pate & truffle oil. Great for truffle lovers

Had a unique shape pasta called Campanelle which I find it not bad but is not really that special to come all the way for it.

There are cheaper and nicer options available

Finally tried this really famous pasta place and well there were hits and misses.

Radiatori with Cheese and Alfredo Sauce ($12.40) - we had fun making our own pasta creations and this turned out pretty well! The pasta had a huge number of ridges to catch the creamy sauce and cheese and it was rich and flavourful. However, I do find the pasta cooked abit too soft and they seasoned the dish with too much salt.

Gemelli with Prawn and Pesto ($17.30) - the pesto sauce was very delightful, with a good amount of creaminess and basil flavours coming through. Prawns were fresh and the noodles were al dente. However, this was abit too salty as well.

Calamari ($19.90) - honestly way too expensive. The squid rings were okay, nothing much to shout about.

Overall, it's definitely a place for more than average quality pastas but I wouldn't say one of the best. The ambience is really good for date nights though!

I got the Radiatori pasta + white clams + black lumpfish caviar + capers in pink sauce and it came up to be $20.40 which is honestly not too bad la.

However I did feel that they were really stingy with the pink sauce? I could barely taste it and was desperately trying to find sauce to coat my pasta with. I have to say the pasta is interesting with a good bite to it. But I doubt I will return anytime soon la.
