This Section 17 spot is great for a hearty, meaty meal, followed by drinks with friends. The lot is long and spacious, so there's ample space to spread out as you tuck into their best — the Signature US Pork Ribs (RM78) doused in a zingy barbecue sauce. Don't miss the simple yet stellar sides to share too, especially the refreshing Watermelon Mint Yoghurt Salad (RM12). Cap off the meal with a cold one — they’ve got all-day beer promos (from RM69 for five glasses).

Crispy, well-seasoned and moist in the middle, this pork chop was just great! You can have the meat on its own for RM18 or add RM10 for two sides – definitely go with this. The watermelon salad is super refreshing (love the touch of mint added) and you must get the smooth mash potatoes.

Tender barbecued ribs, with enough meat on the bones to feed two! The sweet, caramelly glaze is great with the savoury meat, only wished there was more sauce for dipping. Use your hands for this, as with the addictive deep fried lotus root chips. The watermelon mint yoghurt salad will make a nice, refreshing end to the meal.

There are also other sides to choose from, like the celery sticks with blue cheese and Southern style coleslaw.

Forgive the blurred photo, but this is how you eat sisig! Tipsy Boar’s rendition omits liver, and focuses on cheeks with slivers of crunchy ear. The poached egg also veers off the original’s raw egg topping, but does the job of spilling out oozy egg yolk to hug the meat.

Not such a big fan of the lack of texture (most were chunky, fatty cheeks), but can’t say I didn’t enjoy it! Liked that the dish was very savoury, with a dash of zest from the squeeze of lime. Would have been nice with a little more heat, so make sure to take that extra chilli padi on the side. We went for the side of (milky) mash potatoes but personally, I think this would’ve gone better with rice.

A must order when you visit Tipsy Boar! For RM36, it’s quite a generous portion as you get two meaty ribs plus two sides of your choice – we got the refreshing watermelon mint yoghurt salad and the super crunchy lotus root chips (which took me back to CNY celebrations). The marinade was lovely, slightly sweet and peppery while the meat which could have been more tender throughout was still very delicious.

I have not had much sisig before so I can’t really compare this to anything, but I still thought it was really tasty. The cuts in the dish include pork cheeks and ears, both mixed in so well that you can’t tell what is what, so just dive right in. Interesting texture (rather chewy) and I love the egg and the calamansi for extra zing. Was too afraid to throw in the chilli for fear of it turning super spicy. The dish comes with a side of mash or rice and while probably not a conventional pairing, the mash worked pretty nicely with it.
