It surprised me that korean sausage soup is served here. Then I realised some of the peers have it on the menu as well. It's a very popular street food in Korea, generally make by steaming pig's intestines stuffed with various ingredients. The oxbone broth had a rich flavour and blood sausage had been well balanced with green veges such as garlic chives, green onions, perilla leaves, green hot peppers.

Slightly pricey, but overall it was still a decent experience. Absolutely love their chestnut rice wine!!

This tofu stew had a “chef recommendation” next to it. It had a prawn and lots of clams, maybe that’s why it was $20. But the stew was too spicy for me so I couldn’t taste the seafood. And the egg was super hard boiled. I had hoped for lava yolk.

This place was packed and hopping on a Saturday night. Come early in order to get a table.

I asked if they offered the option to fry rice after this dakgalbi, the korean lady said no. I asked if it was enough for two, she said , “I dunno. U can order side dish.” I was quite bewildered so I ordered another dish, soon dubu jjigae (tofu stew).

This dakgalbi came in a metal pan on a huge coaster thing, not on a stovetop like other korean places. So I understood why she said no fried rice. It was too salty and oily for me. Definitely strong flavors.

I usually incline towards soy bean paste based stews or spicy seafood stews, because I’m not that big a fan of the sourish base in kimchi stews that gets a little jelak for me too quickly. Asked for help in recommendations and ended up here in Todamgol - thank you Casey! I liked the well managed balance of flavours which made it so much easier to slurp on and the thick chunky luncheon meat slices were shiok. Our only gripe, more instant noodles please?

Full of ingredients, the stew came still bubbling. Incredibly flavorful, it's definitely recommended to share cause the portions are bigger than usual.
