Seafood was pretty fresh, I particularly liked the flounder! The sashimi was sliced pretty thinly tho, would have appreciated slightly thicker cuts. Rice was pearly and sticky, was of good quality! The set also came with miso soup, chawanmushi, salad with wafu dressing, and fresh fruits. Overall it was above average! I would rather have this over the nearby 2 Japanese restaurants, felt more like an authentic Japanese restaurant over those. Would return if I feel like having something more bougie!

A staple for any department lunch with cause to celebrate. Nigiri Ume lunch set ($22) was simple yet you could taste the freshness of the fish, well worth the price considering the accompanying tofu burger (not pictured), soup, salad, chawanmushi, fruits, and free flow green tea.

Aburi salmon roll with mentai sauce was very average. It was rolled with a strip of avocado and salmon. Too much rice, too little ingredients and not worth it at $18 for such a average tasting roll.

Unagi tempura roll was on discount and tasted okay but better than the aburi salmon roll.

Service was good but food was mediocre

Delicious! Love that the sushi rice is well vinegared and it is not tightly compacted

Had the chawanmushi $5 and unagi don ($24 on half price promo)
Have to say that im not impressed with the unajyu as the unagi was slightly slimey likely because they did not grill with charcoal. Nevertheless, rice was nicely cooked and of high quality.

Tomi sushi is one Jap restaurant that never fails to satisfy when you're craving fresh sashimi/sushi and authentic Japanese fare. The set lunches are especially worth it - and this particular one is my go-to everytime I'm here. Super fresh toro, and soba that is extremely chewy - just like the ones in Japan!

Lightly torched aburi salmon roll from Tomi Sushi. With a little of the creaminess off the top and a little fattiness off the mouthfeel. It’s still quite a decent roll to have. Not the best I ever had, neither was it the most money worthy restaurant to begin with. Freshness of sashimi can definitely be improved! But if you need some Japanese restaurant to go to in the Novena area, I guess it will still not disappoint.

Tomi Sushi’s been on my radar for quite some time and I’ve always wanted to go for the lunch sets. I can’t say that this way bad but I just felt this chirashi set lunch was rather okay, nothing stood out in particular. Paid about 29 for the whole lunch set including GST, which included quite a big miso soup as well as chawanmushi.

Could have gotten a better chirashi/barachirashi don elsewhere for the same price! Probably will stick to my fav haunt instead of coming back

Crowded, even til late. The sushi restaurant is run by a very experienced Japanese Chef whose knife skills is amazing. The sashimi slices are very fresh, and thick. But what is really interesting, is Toni Sushi have a special soy sauce for sashimi, and sushi. The sashimi soy sauce is lighter in colour, and saltier, whereas the sushi soy sauce is a heavier, darker in colour, and a hint of sweetness to the soy sauce. And honestly, I thought it went well with the rice. Clean atmosphere, and friendly staff (although understaffed), would definitely make come back for more dinners.

Occasionally finding ourselves here when we decide to treat ourselves! It was just me and mum for her quiet birthday celebration on the actual day and I was glad she enjoyed her treat in general.
Things we love about Tomi- the quality Japanese Rice used and fresh spread of sashimi.
Today I had their seasonal Nabe (Japanese hotpot)- with vegetables specially flown from Japan and cod fish (from Canada), I was pleased. You can hardly go wrong with the smoothest textured fish out of them all- Cod Fish. While the vegetables were good I'd say I was more happy about paying $15 for a whole fillet of cod fish.
Mum's Kurobuta Yakiniku Gozen set had an assortment of tempura, sashimi, sushi, chawamushi and miso soup. The main Kurobuta pork was submerged in yakiniku sauce which we would prefer less of but yet it was not downright off putting.

Good filling portion and quality food. Especially the pan fried beef cubes. The fragrant fried sliced garlic amplified the flavor of the beef.
Something good that jiak alone. No need to worry of bad breathe. Just eat and go home. #jiakalone

Right amount of wasabi been hidden in the roll. Just a light dip of soy sauce was all it needed! Close to perfection.

Fresh, quality, and slightly pricier than the ordinary Japanese restaurants, but for its quality I believe it is reasonable. Set lunches and set dinners are very affordable and reasonable though! This is where i frequent for my comfort Japanese sushi cravings.

or perhaps I'm showing my food cultural ignorance #burpple #sgjapfood

Chefs at the counter are all Japanese, feels damn authentic. Very affordable too, with miso, salad, chawanmushi and watermelon. #SETHEATS

A set that allows you to enjoy all the best things tomi sushi has to offer. Super fresh sashimi, super fresh sashimi in sushi form, crispy tempura, smooth chawanmushi and tender beef. The beef was served w crispy fried garlic that made it even more shiok!

I have been craving chirashi for the longest time and haven't gotten a chance to satisfy it in US. Finally got my chirashi! Although it was a tad expensive at $46, the sashimi was really fresh! They all just melt in your mouth. It went really well w the japanese seaweed rice ☺️

11 pieces of melt-in-the-mouth goodness, including maguro chutoro, hamachi, unagi, tamago, ikura, ebi and our favorite uni! What we appreciate: the fish served is always fresh by friendly and helpful chefs. 👍😋

Nigiri Sakura Set ($28) comes with 8pcs of nigiri sushi, 2pcs of chicken karaage, chawanmushi, miso soup, side salad and cut fruits. A great place for sushi, especially with their set lunches!
