Tom's Palette

1910 Wishlisted
Tom’s Palette has been serving homemade ice cream since September 2005! The home-grown parlour is best known for its experimental and sometimes crazy flavours, made without artificial flavouring, premixes, or the addition of stabilisers.

From the Burpple community

Always been a regular at Tom's Palatte, because there is always some interesting flavours from time to time. A 4oz cup cost $5 (1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) and you can get up to 2 flavours. The viet coffee was strong on its coffee notes, great for people looking for less sweet ice cream. The yuzu has been my all-time favourite and I love the critus tang. Absolutely refreshing!

1. Chocolate Sorbet & Honey Lavender
2. Yuzu Sorbet & Chocolate Stout

First off, appreciate the staff’s patience and friendliness towards their customers. We tried many flavours and staff remain kind and friendly. Ice cream flavours were interesting and the 1 for 1 deal is worth it. Even without the deal, I would buy it too! Definitely worth a try!

This place is tucked away in the rundown Shaw building, but don’t let that stop you, Tom’s palette is renovated well and clean. Got the Rum & raisin with Chocolate tea, as well as the honey lavender with honey cinnamon. It had a gelato consistency and was packed with flavour. I especially loved the rum & raisin, i could really taste the sweet rum. The lavender had floral notes and the honey cinnamon was reminiscent of Auntie Annie’s cinnamon pretzels! $5 for 2x 4Oz cups is a steal. Come support Tom and enjoy his delicious ice-cream! Maybe even try the adventurous flavours like white chocolate nori.

1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond!

One of my all-time favourite ice cream places, and a must-visit place in Bugis! Always looking forward to their rotating flavours because they never fail to disappoint. What’s more, with Burpple Beyond, 4 flavours for just $5!

Other than the usual white chocolate nori that never fails to amaze me with its unusual combination of sweet and briny flavours incorporated with white chocolate almond, we also had the triple coconut. Coconut lovers should not miss this coconut indulgence of coconut jelly, coconut flesh and coconut ice cream. You would be delighted to find the amount of coconut flesh hidden within!

Also had my first try on Pi Pa Gao and pineapple tarts flavours! The minty, herbal and less sweet pi pa gao ice cream was made using the Three Leg Brand’s Pi Pa Gao, mixed with ice cream custard. Something unusually comforting. Last but not least, the pineapple tarts flavour brought about some festive mood. According to the staff, they churn their own pineapple jam for this ice cream, and indeed, there were chunks of pineapple jam as well as the buttery tarts hidden in this flavour. Tropical, slightly sweet but it’s so unique that you just want to have it again.

Thanks to #burpplebeyond, the feeling of enjoying one of my favourite ice cream at half price was even sweeter! As Tom’s palette is hunting for a new location, be sure to catch them at Shaw Towers before the end of March 2020!

Matcha + After 8 ($3.60 - 3 Oz in Cup) When they posted on social media about Matcha Flavour on last week for special flavours by Tom's Palette, I decided to drop by the area on last tuesday. Even though it was raining on evening time and didn't bring the umbrella along with me. I managed to buy umbrella from Waston and decided to walk over from bugis junction to shaw towers. I managed having one-third of Matcha left that most of people have been ordering it during day time. Matcha looked quite light texture but a bit of bitter aftertaste. I decided to pick After 8 because I did tasted it before. After 8 quite creamy, milky and strong mint taste for chocolate. It covered up Matcha Flavour for taste so its best for people who want to try both different flavour. I will be keeping a look where I hope that Hojicha will be comeback next year. They will be moving out of Shaw Tower on 31 Mar 2020 so don't missed them if you want to try their variety of ice cream flavour.
