Quality Teh Bing. Tea is of the right strength for me, condensed milk complemented well by giving a good bodied taste suitable for its strength. They steeped the tea with the right duration, giving just a very slight bitter aftertaste from the release of tannin compounds. Toast was also well done, with a kaya that taste homemade, not so sweet and still slightly chunky.

One big negative point however was the service. The place was empty and they made me sit outside, where they were burning some offerings. When I expressed my concerns, they told me the inside was reserved for customers who came to eat (but really. In an empty restaurants). No matter how good ur tea is (good but not to say mindblowing), would hesitate to go back. Already increasing my risk of diabetes with the sweet drink, need not increase my risk of lung cancer. The tea was not bitter but their service definitely was.

Was really impressed with the toast here! It was ultra crisp which I really like.

Not a big fan of the homemade kaya though, it was too lumpy for my liking, and didn’t have a distinct taste. The french toast was decent.

Using the homemade kaya together with the butter, which makes this the ultimate combination of King of Singaporean Breakfast.

Simple and no frills old school coffee house has been selling standard breakfast sets over the decades. Have been hearing so many good reviews about their food and indeed i am super impressed by their housemade kaya. Simple french toast grilled to slight charred and the heat melts the butter slab away. In this way, the french toast will soak up the melted butter and adds on a butter fragance to the toast. Eat it together with the homemade kaya which i really love because the sweetness was subtle and flavourful!

Generous serving of green veg n mushrooms that are braised well. $10 for this small plate which is pretty decent. Would pay for this again.

This is one the Chef-recommendation dishes in the list...Not greasy, well-balanced with black bean sauce and bittergourd. Would be better if pork ribs could be simmered longer. That might be a better pork ribs dish. But overall, it’s delicious.
