4⭐ It's coincidence that both of us craved for Tonkatsu again. I thought of trying another Tonkatsu place but WB prefer sticking to the one we have ate before, so we ended up at Ma Masion Tonkatsu again.

While it is a little pricey, the deep fried pork cutlet is fried to perfection, neither too fatty nor oily. It’s topped with a generous portion of kombu (kelp) and oroshi (grated daikon radish), and served with a (refillable!) side of cabbage, all of which help to cut through the rich taste of the pork cutlet. You get the choice of brown or white rice on the side, which serves as the perfect complement to the dish.

This is definitely the best tonkatsu shop in Singapore. In addition to more variety (eg. Kurobota, prawn, fish, Nagoya style, Ontama, Hungarian, etc), the tonkatsu here is just extraordinary - moist inside and crispy batter outside. My fav is the jumbo Rosu Katsu pork loin. Side dishes are sometimes questionable; for example, the grilled mentaiko is way too salty. But the crab croquette is not crap at all; it’s yum! The mixed grain rice, soup and cabbage (all with free refills) are also superior. On weekends, be prepared to queue. Ta maison est ma maison when it comes to tonkatsu!
