Expected good service and good food however this was not the case. Soup was quite bland and DO NOT HAVE add-ons like beancurd skin.

Good service would be wistful thinking at this place, sadly, when we requested on our table for a soup refill, we get pushed around like a ball. At first we waited for 10mins after asking for a soup refill but nobody came to serve us. So I went to the counter with the claypot BKT to ask for some but was rejected with a rude tone instead. Giving excuses that they do not have any soup, no soup refills, kitchen too busy and asked us to go back to our tables.

A minute later, a lady went to ask for soup refills and she was given. What a double standard. Disappointment service.

The word "traditional" enticed me to walk in to this shop at Rail Mall to try out some herbal Bak Kut Teh, with a fond impression of how good it can get when I had it in Klang.

Good thing is that they allowed me to opt out from the innards, and stick to the meat option of the Bak Kut Teh (S$6.60). No offence but I think the photograph on the menu looked more promising, because what I was served looked simplified. But matching this price with that from food centres, this portion of ingredients could seem reasonable. The soup is also not bad in terms of the taste of herbs, in my opinion.

Tau Pok (S$3.80) sold separately, but good for sharing if you have a companion because they give two big pieces of that.

Warm broth (however don't expect song fa's extra peppery soup here), chewy meat and tau pok and Chinese fritters. Warm for the soul! We spent around $25 for all of these. 😉 Extra love for their yam rice! Review up on our blog : www.thegrowingbelly.co/traditional-klang-claypot-bak-kut-teh-thegrowingbelly/
