Amazing food at an affordable price! First off, I got the beef tartar, which was juicy and topped with shinmiji and sake sauce that was a savoury complement to the beef. Next, I ordered the hoisin pork belly. The pork belly was soo tender and the thick layer of fat melts in your mouth! The carrot puree that accompanied it was creamy and tangy. Finally, I got the cocoa brownie — a very interesting take on a brownie, where the chocolate ice cream was topped with crispy cocoa biscuit pieces. The cherry compote beneath the ice cream was velvety and sweet.

Overall, an amazing dining experience that is definitely a bang for your buck!

Loved the food here! And the dishes were affordable considering the quality of food.Would highly recommend the shrimps with beurre blanc sauce, the shrimps were plump and sweet and the sauce was amazing! The scallop ceviche was nice and refreshing too, and I got the sea bass for my mains which was delicate and the skin was crispy. Overall, this place is ideal for a nice date!

The truffle-cheese rigatoni and shrimps with beurre blanc sauce were absolutely delightful! True Cost delivers what it promises.

True Cost is a stunning rooftop restaurant at Suntec City with an interesting concept: You pay a small entrance fee ($5 per pax for lunch) and get to enjoy the main menu at low mark up for best value.

For appetisers, we had Grilled Eggplant with Miso ($7.95), Bone Marrow with Chilli, Pita and Parmesan Mousse ($14.85), Scallop with Coconut Cream and Mint ($10.95) and Salmon Ceviche with Cucumber and Avocado ($9.95). I generally preferred the hot appetisers to the raw bar. The grilled eggplant is pretty decent. While the bone marrow is rather oily, it is quite tasty and goes well with the pita. On the other hand, the raw scallops and salmon ceviche is overpowered by the heavy sauces and I felt that the flavours and textures did not really complement each other very well.

For mains, we had Beef Cheek with Pea Purée ($13.95), Crab Linguine in Chili Tomato Sauce ($13.95), King Grouper with Vine Tomatoes ($26.85) and Grilled Chicken with Curry Corn ($9.85). The mains are generally good and my favourite is the beef cheek. The fork-tender beef is juicy, flavourful and goes well with the sweet pea purée (not a fan of peas but this did not taste like peas). Sadly, I found the grilled chicken to be pretty underwhelming - it is a tad dry and the bland curry corn does little for the dish.

On the whole, while the food is not mind-blowing, it is generally good (except for a few misses) and for the price point and lovely ambience, it is indeed good value-for-money. Glad to finally try this!

tried the scallops, they are very flavourful! ambience and staff service are great as well:)

Tried the grilled octopus paired with sweet potato puree which was absolutely delightful. The octopus had just the right texture and was extremely tasty and goes well with the sweetness of the potato puree.
