Pictured is the pork omelette (cheese tonpei-yaki, 12.8 ++). A tasty side dish, ordered to keep the hunger at bay whilst the chef prepared the okonomayaki which has a 25 min wait. Good idea to get some nibbles before the main event :) Grilled edamame also offer some respite and make a change from the usual steamed variety. Make a reservation if you can, especially as there’s reduced seating currently.

First time trying Fugetsu Okonomiyaki and we ordered one of their Yakisobas to try. Be careful not to leave your yakisoba on the hot stone for too long (even though it’s fun to let it cook and sizzle) because the noodles will become hard. Flavour was so-so. Didn’t come with a lot of ingredients even though we topped up for the large size (few pieces of pork slices and cabbage). Omelette with chili and mayo sauce was good though!

Okonomiyaki heaven. Finally came to the suntec branch after first eating in Changi airport, they offer pocket friendly okonomiyaki (starting at $10) with your own top ups. I added beef ($3) and we got to see our okonomiyaki sizzle right in front of us. The cabbage was so soft...

Perfectly paired with miso soup, rice and rice sushi toppings. Only gripe is the sneaky pieces of ginger in the okonomiyaki.

Nice and quiet but very hard to find as it's deep inside the jap food area of suntec. This is a branch of the famous okonomiyaki chain in Osaka. Tastes really good like Japan! Cabbage and noodles together with loads of sauce.

Check out Tsuruhashi Fugetsu's Modanyaki, their take on a modern okonomiyaki ($10.80++ onwards). Featuring savoury pancakes with a twist - you get the crispness of fresh cabbage, the chewyness of yakisoba, & flavours of various meat/seafood within.

This was fried on both sides before my very eyes, timed to perfection as how the Japanese take pride in their craft. A generous amount of cabbage goes into the modanyaki; the fibre helps to make this dish less oily, which I certainly value.

For those who work in the area, Tsuruhashi Fugetsu's affordable weekday lunch specials at $16.80++ are worth checking out. From Mon-Fri, 11:30-14:30hrs, choose from a different special of the day, all of which are centered around yakisoba (fried egg noodles):

Mon: Spicy Shoyu Yakisoba
Tue: Mentai Mayo Shio Yakisoba (pictured)
Wed: Omelette Yakisoba
Thu: Negi Mayo Shio Yakisoba
Fri: Cheese Yakisoba

All specials come with rice, teriyaki chicken, & miso soup... Dang y'all be so full after that, rollin' back to work.
