Located at Takashimaya’s foodhall basement. There are other Japanese eateries around the corner too! Nothing much to rave about but you can simply satisfy your Japanese food craving fix over here at low damage.
Food ordered:
1) Kitsune Udon ($7.80)
2) Kakiage Don ($10.80)
Hiroshima Oysters Kakiage Tonkotsu Udon
(Hiroshima Oyster Fiesta: 1 Oct to 31 Dec 2020)
For local standards, the udon here at Tsuru-koshi Udon in the basement of Takashimaya is really not bad! Good if you’re in a hurry but want some nice, decently priced, inexpensive Japanese food. The food is served quickly and piping hot. 10/10 would recommend 🙆🏻♀️
$9.3. I’m generally not an udon person but this was nice! Kinda wish there were more veggies but the taste was good la & q filling. Food came q fast also.
Was a nice bowl of udon, good texture and very smooth! If you’re looking for a comforting familiar bowl of udon, I’d recommend this place. Tastewise, it wasn’t particularly special or unique.
Ordered the tonkotsu soup base udon with charsiu and kakiage and it came really quick like in 5minutes?? The noodles were super well cooked and still slightly bouncy when I bit into them. The soup isn’t the creamy tonkotsu kind but a mellower version but salty and porky enough (there are fish soup versions available)
The charsiu came as 2 thin slices of pork belly but didn’t add much to the dish and the kakiage was slightly too oily for my liking. The star of the show was really the soup and noodles and add a few dashes of the chili powder if you want a little spicy kick😛
