Finally tried the unagi that had been on the news for some time. My first thought was “well.. the unagi is really small...) I mean I can’t complain right because I ordered the small size but 🥺

The unagi is nicely charred and soft. I really enjoyed the 3 steps to eat this unagi — made the eating experience fun and experiential! But the unagi overall was nothing to shout about. It wasn’t as smoky as I’d like it to be, which is one thing that I really look out for in a good unagi. Must admit that it’s really affordable! Would definitely not mind Una Una to satisfy my urgent unagi cravings on a tight pocket.

You have a choice of eating the unagi don 3 different ways, as is, with condiments and with dashi soup. They had the spicy version this time round and I like tt it creates a different taste compared to the usually sweet unagi, gives it a sweet and spicy feel! Great place when craving for Unagi don. Tip: We went at around 9pm and theres no queue. ;)

Located beside ramen champion in Bugis+, una una is known as the cheapest Place to find the Hitsumabushi unagi donburi in Singapore. Pictured is the double Hitsumabushi unagi set, twice the portion of freshly grilled unagi. We enjoyed the different instructions to enjoy our unagi: together with the soup, soup/condiments and with the sweet sauce.

This is really affordable compared to other restaurants!! The small portion is only $9.80 😱 and for its price, the unagi was really quite good! It was grilled nicely - crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside (but I would have liked it to be more charred) Nonetheless, it was still a satisfying and affordable meal!!

Can’t quite compare to Man Man - the unagi isn’t as crispy and the dashi soup broth isn’t as tasty. But still pretty worth it to get a sizeable portion of fresh unagi!

Came on a weekday evening and there was a short queue but luckily you can reserve on chope in advance. There were some interesting seats sitting on cushions at traditional Japanese low tables which might be quite fun!

My friend got the Double Hitsumabushi (~$19.80): pic just to compare 🍱
