Plant-based burger joint VeganBurg has recently brought back their Rasa Sayang Burger ($14.90) just in time for Hari Raya! I tried it recently it’s really sedap! It’s an entirely vegan burger with mycoprotein patty, vegan sunny side up egg, kampong sambal, caramelised onions, lettuce, cucumbers and garlic aioli in between whole wheat buns. I thought the combination of these ingredients all worked pretty well, but it’s the sweet and spicy sambal that elevated the burger from good to shiok!
I also upgraded my meal to a set (top up $6.90) with the Coconut Fries and Rose Bandung. The coconut fries were not bad (comes with coconut shavings and vegan mayonnaise), but the rose bandung was a little too sweet for my liking.

The burger was nice, the patty tasted like real meat/chicken patty, the creamy sauce with sliced button mushrooms & fresh lettuce, goes really well together with the patty. One more point to add was that the bun was soft & fluffy, yummy!
Seaweed fries, thicker cut like MosBurger’s, seaweed seasoning was a bit pathetic, couldn’t really taste the difference as compared to normal fries (just less salty maybe).
Cranberry lemonade was refreshing and not too sweet, with a hint of sourness, nice~

Spice up your Chinese New Year 🧧 with Veganburg's new Mala Fortune Burg! 🍔 Packed with a grilled soy patty, farm-fresh veggies 🥬, dried chili 🌶, roasted peanuts 🥜 & finally topped with an authentic mala sauce, every bite was absolutely flavourful! The spice level is moderate, pretty shiok! 😋

Complete the meal with their seasonal sides - the crispy Golden Tots 🥔 & refreshing Yuzu Lemonade 🍋. Enjoyed them too!
We are back to VeganBurg to try their other vegan burgers and today, we decided to try out the smoky BBQ burger! Instead of a meat patty, the eatery used a mushroom patty for this one and you can really taste the mushrooms in it! It was also nice that VeganBurg provided a generous serving of BBQ sauce, although we felt they could have gone easier on the sauce as it was literally dripping out of the burger, which made it harder to eat.
The seaweed fries, on the other hand, were pretty disappointing as they tasted like regular fries (the harder and firmer type) and there was almost zero hint of seaweed on it. If we had a choice, we wouldn't have upgraded to a meal (~$16) and stuck with the a la carte burger order. Serving size of the fries, however, was pretty generous.
Despite being dairy free, the sauce was creamy enough. We also liked that the sauce was slightly peppery. Topped with button mushrooms and a crispy patty, we see why its an easy favourite for most. A must order for mushroom lovers. Serving size was ok for the price.
The chilli krab burger doesn't scream vegan in any way — and I mean it in a good way as a non-vegan. It tastes just like a fried crab patty with chilli sauce in the burger. I was expecting the chilli sauce to be more like the chilli crab sauce, but it really was just a slight spicy-sweet sauce. What this burger really felt was healthy, unlike all the other non-vegan burgers I eat — greasy and oily. A good healthy alternative for those who want to try vegan food for themselves or those who are craving healthier burger options!
