The chicken curry was very rich and the chicken parts were tender. The soft Roti Jala complemented well with the curry. Potato in chicken curry is my favourite and I'm glad they included a couple of chunks.

What was supposed to be the main event at this joint turned out to be overhyped. The 'laksa pesto' was slightly too saltish, the prawns were not fresh, and the tau pok tasted weird. The price also did not justify the amount that was given for this dish. Overall, a pretty average dish.

Here at Violet Oon's after hearing raved reviews from friends and from her popularity. I would say though that overall the food was rather disappointing.

Here's the Ayam goreng which is basically fried chicken with bits of fried coconut shavings. The chicken which was said to have been marinated with many spices was not very flavorful, and the fried coconut shavings were soft and not crunchy enough.

The pasta was well-tossed, with the gritty and sweet pepper coating each strand very evenly. However, the prawns seemed to be awkward guests at their own party, all dry with annoyingly hard shells, and you would be so busy enjoying the pasta you wouldn't notice if the prawns were substituted with a Doraemon plush. 3.7/5

The equivalent of giving your tongue a luxurious staycation body massage using this cool, fragrant and really smooth cream. It's not gonna be easy finding more pleasant ways to end a meal than this. 4.1/5

"Vio" plays fairy godmother to the bean sprouts and cucumber who, let's be honest, have as much individual gustatory swag as the kids from the AVA and Gardening Clubs no matter how you attach words like "julienned" to make them sound edgier. Her peanut sauce - a creation which achieves a magical combination of sweet, spicy and nutty - essentially serves as the vegetables' metaphorical ballgowns and handsome tuxedos for wearing to the ball that is your mouth. 4/5
