We ordered Truffles Fries ($12) to share and I am actually low-key impressed at how crispy and well seasoned these shoestring fries are. The fries stayed crisp throughout the whole meal and they go well with the truffle sauce. Love the big portion as well!

The Mentaiko Scallops features flame-torched Hokkaido scallops drizzled in mentaiko sauce and topped with tobiko and scallions. The scallops are sweet, tender and not over cooked - can’t get enough of this!

I have been wanting to give Waa Cow! a try as there is a one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond at the Marina One outlet. The 3 course meal ($50++ for 2 pax) comes with Mentaiko Scallops, Signature Truffle Sukiyaki and one pint of Asahi Super Dry (non-alcoholic beverages available too).

The Signature Truffle Sukiyaki is a hearty rice bowl that comes with soft beef slices cooked in house made beef bone tare and topped with shaved truffle, seasonal mushrooms, onsen egg, tobiko and scallions. The sauce is sweet and savoury, and the runny egg brings everything together deliciously.

One of my go-to places for wagyu don. The beef is nicely seared. The umami....

We actually visited this place with intention to use the Burpple Beyond 3 course meal deal. But upon reading reviews, decided to order a-la-carte instead, as the appetiser was very small in portion anyway and we don't drink beer.

We ordered the Black Angus Beef Sukiyaki donburis, and topped up to a set with large chicken and sashimi. I also had my don with a foie gras top-up. The beef is well-marinated and seared, sweet and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Onsen egg and Mentaiko lived up to expectations but the foie gras did not as it lacked flavor and was rather watery in texture. The portions however are on the smaller end for its price point. I also had green tea and it was a tea packet served in hot water, and it was cheap tea.

Overall, considering the location I think this place is good for a quick work lunch but perhaps not somewhere I would travel to just for dinner.
