What I really like and appreciate about Wano Niku is the effort and work they put into ensuring that you enjoy your dining experience with an assortments and condiments.

Miss K and I were addicted to their grated garlic. The nutty sweet flavours and pungent aroma of the grated garlic only served to enhance the savoury and buttery rich notes of the wagyu beef and Kumamoto pork.

Yes, dining is in a hot and grimy kopitiam setting (and next to a car park). If you ignore all this, the food and service is restaurant-grade. They very kindly offered to shift us to another spot because it was drizzling andour original table was partially sheltered.

Most people are (rightfully) drawn to Wano Niku for their awesome and affordably priced
Japanese wagyu beef but do not ignore their Kumamoto pork belly and pork collar which are equally good as well! The pork is tender and juicy with a rich intense flavour.

For the kitchen nerds, Wano Niku's hot plate is served with a bbq grill mat which prevents your meat from sticking to the grill!

If you are alone or a little more budget conscious, you can get Wako Niku's signature yakiniku meats for $8 per 100g.

The meats are a mix of karubi and loin "scraps" marinated in one of their three signature sauces - the original, aka (i.e. spicy) or shiro (salt based). I personally prefer their original and shiro sauce but those who like a fiery kick will definitely like their aka sauce!

I have been meaning to try Wano Niku for ages after they were featured on Glib Ojisan's YouTube channel and finally did so for a special occasion with Miss K (yes, in a kopitiam but the food is great so don't judge haha).

Wano Niku is located in a kopitiam in Tanjong Pagar that specialises in yakiniku, and in particular, Japanese wagyu A4 beef and Kumamoto pork at incredibly affordable prices.

You can order the different cuts of beef and pork ala carte but if you are in a group and unsure of what to do, Wano Niku has party platters for less than $50 which are probably just nice for 2 pax.

For $40, you get dice cut steak, karubi, pork belly and pork collar with an assortment of vegetables and some kimchi (as pictured above). I think this is a steal considering the quality of their meats!

Had an epic meat feast at Wano Niku, a yakiniku stall in a coffeeshop serving authentic A4 Wagyu imported from Japan😍 We ordered:
- Monthly Special Set comprising Strip Lion Steak and 3 kinds of Wagyu ($50)
- Wano Niku Original - Regular Sauce ($8)
- Wano Niku Aka - Spicy Sauce ($8)
- Wano Niku Shiro - Salt-Based Sauce ($8)
- Pork Belly ($5)
- Nikusui - Beef broth with tofu and spring onion ($8)
- Assorted vegetables ($6)
- Kimchi ($3)

The Wagyu steak in the monthly special set is so soft that it almost falls apart when you pick it up in its raw form, and it is very aromatic when grilled till medium rare. The Wagyu pieces that are marinated in different sauces are very tasty too, especially the salt-based sauce which enhances the natural flavours of the meat.

Apart from the outstanding meat platter, the hidden gem is actually the beef soup which is really sweet and flavourful. The chunks of beef in the soup literally melt in your mouth🤤 Definitely not to be missed!

The price point for this yakinuku stall is super reasonable, given the quality of the premium beef served. There are no additional frills and the natural flavours of the beef takes centrestage. What a treat!
