Reviews at Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice (Marina Square)

Reviews of good food at Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice (Marina Square)

Tender, moist glistening poached or roasted chicken slices set atop aromatic rice — it is no question why chicken rice is an ubiquitous Singaporean favourite and a hit among locals and tourists alike. Ask locals which stall is best and you're likely to start quite a heated debate. Our advice? Taste from as many as you can! Start at Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice, one of the more established chicken rice brands in Singapore. The outlet at Marina Square is decked out like an old-school coffeeshop for ambience, yet diners get to eat in air-conditioned comfort. With options for poached, roasted and soya sauce chicken, the Chicken Rice (from $4.80 a plate) features tender and juicy chicken slicked in an aromatic sauce, and the garlicky rice is fragrant and well-oiled. It is served with accompanying saucers of dark soya sauce, piquant and tangy housemade chilli sauce and minced ginger. There are no rules to adding these condiments. Some, like Burpple Tastemaker Julius Lim, like drenching their rice in black sauce and dipping the chicken in chilli and ginger. Others prefer to simply dip sparingly. Go crazy.

It's one of the famous shop in Singapore. Steamed chicken rice/ Roasted chicken rice.Price:SG$4.5 with soup. You should order without born!!! It's more delicious and easy to eat.

One of our national dishes, chicken rice is being loved not only locally but also internationally. There are many different ways to eating chicken rice and I like my rice to be mixed with the black sauce and my chicken to be dipped with the chilli and ginger. The famous ones include Tian Tian, Boon Tong Kee and Wee Nam Kee.

Cost: S$4.80 per plate

Excellent chicken by this established name Wee Nam Kee. While they are usually famous for their outlet at Toa Payoh, I find that the quality of food at their Marina Square Outlet is better! A must try is their Soya Sauce Chicken and I'm sure many others who know of Wee Nam Kee will tell you the same as well

Something which I like as well 😁

chicken rice. ◾◽
Roasted chicken with nice crisp skin. Veges always a must for every meal. Rice was fragrant but could have a softer fluffier texture. But still I finished every grain, every bit of chicken and every single morsel of vegs. Do not forget to dip dunk, immerse everything in the chilli. It is hot hot hot. Mix mix mix ginger sauce & sweet sauce. Wooo.....so much love for the bursting of chicken and fiery chilli goodness.
