Definitely the one with the longest Queue here at Whampoa Market.

Decides to have the yuan yang, so don't have to come back again to try the other one.

Maybe is my personal preference, but I'd refer the black rendition here.

The longest queue for fried carrot cake between the Whampoa markets belongs to this stall. I can see why! The 粿is cut into smaller pieces, hence the larger surface area for charring! That adds crisp and smokiness. Get the white version and taste the difference. The auntie behind the wok has quick hands! Once you are in front of the line you won’t have to wait more than 5-7mins for a steamy plate of fried carbs. Great for morning-afters!

Here, another snaking queue spotted. And yes, it was worth the queue! The fragrance from the egginess filled the room when I opened up this takeaway packet of fried carrot cake. Every single carrot cube was coated with egg and it was extremely fragrant. There were also shreds of carrots within the carrot cake pieces. I particularly appreciate how Tanglin Halt’s version of carrot cake wasn’t overly oily, unlike that of many other carrot cake places. I would love to try their black carrot cake some time!

We got to know them at our Korea group tour. We discussed about food from day to night. Later then I knew that they owned a stall at Balastier food center. So he shared a little back the scene and this is the #storybehindthehawker

Every morning from 4am, the couple will started preparing the Kueh and selling by 6am. When they closed at 2pm, they will prepared the stuffing and let it cool overnight.

After we got back to Singapore, we went to visit their stall. They sizzled the Kueh in a big frying pan to give them an extra crispy outer skin. After my first bite, I understood why he insisted on making everything from scrap. Maybe because we could identify with their effort and time invested, my family had became their regular customers. Whenever we were nearby, we just definitely take away some and fried them back home. #Hawkerpedia

Together with his wife, they prepared the ingredients in the afternoon. Steamed the Kueh before the sun is up. Fried them right before serving

Nowadays, for a stall to steam their own carrot cake is more than rare but I am glad that they are still doing so

Such funny idea - cut them into cubes and bend them together with egg with the additional flavoring
