I’m a huge fan of orh nee desserts so of course I couldn’t give this a miss when we found it on the menu!

Texture wise, it is what I’m looking for in a good yam paste. Not too smooth like a flowing liquid so it’s really in a paste form. However, I think this loses out on the taste. Yam was fragrant but they could have added a bit more sugar to enhance the fragrance. I suppose the sweetness comes from the sweetened coconut milk which you can add yourself but I don’t like to add too much coconut milk as it becomes v gelak.

Overall, it was a good dessert, that wasn’t too sweet unless you add your own coconut milk 😬

People think The North is a wasteland full of weird people. But there are treasures beyond the wall... If you look past the lurking demons. Wait am I talking about Yishun or Winterfell?
This storied zichar is basically restaurant royalty in The North. Their 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 ($6.50/$11.50/$16.50) boasts of a viscuous stock that just explodes with sweetness from all the seafood and egginess, with the thin beehoon soaking it all up perfectly — simple and straightforward with its own convincing charm, just like Jon Snow. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵!
Sadly, it used to be so good you'd bend the knee. While it still remains pretty good, I hope the standards don't plummet like the last few seasons of GoT. Or else, citing Jon Snow's eloquent catchphrase, "𝒂𝒉 𝒅𝒖𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒕."

Add the egg as it's stir Fried separately so it isnt soggy and there's good wok hei

Really flavourful, the Broth was thicker than i expected and i loved that it was on the dry Side. Squid and prawns was cooked to perfection, as expected from their long history. The sambal belachan has a slight bitter note(not bitter taste), and it's rather sour which works perfectly with the bee hoon. There's also a kick so go easy on the sambal first.

Can see myself coming back here as it's a really comforting dish executed with standards

Generous portion of white beehoon at only SGD15, which we shared among 5 people 💕 Was also very surprised at how delicious a simple dish like the sambal sweet potato leaves can be. The sotong was fresh and had a light crispy batter coated with salted egg, it was so heavenly. Everything was gone in a few minutes; maybe we were just hungry 😂

Bee Hoon soaked in light but tasty gravy, with prawn and squid. But I can’t really taste the wok Hei in the bee Hoon..
