PRICE: $4.50

WAITING TIME: 4 min on a weekday lunchtime
(Beeper provided so need not stand in queue)

PRAWNS: 2

SOUP:

NOODLES TYPE: Many to choose from. Their thin beehoon is unlike the usual thin beehoon. Very nice!

REMARKS:
- Soup is nice but the amount is not a lot
- lots of fried shallots in the noodles, yaaaay

WILL I ORDER AGAIN? YES.

Do I prefer this to its strongest competitor (Albert Street Prawn Noodles) in the adjacent row? I don't know yet. Prices there begin from $5.50 though.

Prawn Mee Soup (~$5) was warm and comforting, with 3 huuge juicy and fresh prawns inside 🦐🤩 Meat came out from the shell easily which made eating it so much easier tbh 🤪
.
However the prawn broth was pretty anticlimactic ☹️ Expected the broth to be much thicker and have more of a shrimp ‘taste’ but it was Super thin :-( Overall able to get better Prawn Mees out there :<

Ig @goodfomood

The prawn is big and fresh.

The soup is a little bland

The chilli in the beehoon is also quite bland, feels like missing some fried lard

like really no taste.. but the prawn is quite shiok to eat 😊
Maybe their dry #prawnmee wld be a better option

Prawn village has the best prawn mee i've eaten so far👍

This intensely-flavoured broth packed a punch with its deep crustacean aroma – lightly spiced, sweet on the after taste. Pork ribs were just a little tough, but otherwise, this was utterly magnificent. Easily one of the best.

A spontaneous dinner with my parents at Old Airport Road Food Centre led to me ordering this $5 bowl of prawn and pig’s tail noodle soup from “Whitley Road Big Prawn Noodle” (stall #01-98). Mostly because I had not eaten their food in a long while and couldn’t recall what their style’s like.
Turned out to be pretty satisfying with a sweet broth built on the strength of crustaceans rather than pork bones. Although the vivid orange colour of the soup looks attractive in my photo, do note it has a consistency that’s more watery than opaquely creamy (which is what you get at “Da Dong Prawn Noodles). Nonetheless, I did enjoy sipping it.
What I also found satisfying were the freshness of the prawns and the extreme tenderness of the pig’s tail (guaranteed to leave mouths with a delicious stickiness at the end of the meal).
