From the Burpple community

We love this place - the most innovative and flavourful vegetarian restaurant in Singapore, and one of the best in SouthEast Asia. We ordered takeaway for Vesak day. Even when not consumed on premises, the food is still delish. Portions may have shrunk over time, so be a bit ambitious when ordering!

Penang Rendang $22
This is the star dish for me! The shiitake mushroom cooked nicely and absorbs the sauce which just perfect! The rendang sauce is so savory and nice. Once I taste it I become addicted to it immediately. There's also a bit of spicy taste but not that strong. The rendang sauce really bring the Peranakan taste that for me not really easy to find in Singapore. You must try this when you visit this restaurant!

Wolfberry Soup $11/$18
This clear soup have a calm kind of taste so it doesn't taste heavy at all. All the veggies taste sweet and it further enhance by the wolfberry. It's not bad and quite decent, the aftertaste also nice. Go for it if you look for a soup that doesn't have a strong taste.

Whole earth is personally my favourite vegetarian restaurant of all time! 😍 However, they might be at a slightly pricier range. But still super worth it since their food are of quality and standard! 👌🏽

Penang rendang:
Whole earth serves the best Penang mushroom rendang i’ve eaten! It is one of their signature dish to go for when you visit! Their shiitake mushroom is so well marinated which makes you savour each and every bite of it! It is so chewy and tender at the same time. They are also generous with the amount given. Hands down my favourite rendang dish! Love it so much! Highly recommended!! 👍🏽😋

5 spice ngor hiang roll:
The ngor huang dish was honesty just a p normal dish, nothing v unique and special about it. It is decent but personally would just give it a one time try and that would be good enough. I am not really a ngor hiang kinda person as well so this dish would not be my go to dish. However for people who enjoys ngor hiang should give it a try at least! 😌

The Monkeyhead mushrooms were SO GOOD amd probably my favourite of the dishes we had. The sweet and sour dish was good too but a bit too sweet for me. The same for the tofu dish although I think if I didn't have the sweet and sour dish it would have not tasted too sweet. I recommend getting a few dishes to share as well as a portion of rice.

...but it might well be the best one in Singapore! Authentic Peranakan or Thai flavours. In fact, it’s better than many protein Thai or Peranakan restaurants! Although always full at mealtime (in fact, hard to book on Vesak and other Buddhist holidays), staff remain friendly and not stressed. They should open more outlets if they can maintain consistent quality.
