+$1 for Breast Meat

For $12.80, it is indeed very steep, but what u get here is an excellent plate of Ayam Berempah Nasi Lemak.

The Chicken Breast was very fresh, texture like steam chicken but with a fried juicy taste to it. Meat was not dry whatsoever.

Having had both the leg and breast menu item, I would still go with the leg though, its cheaper and the meat is more juicier.

The Berempah as usual, is very good here.

#New Menu Item#

Lemak Chilli Padi comes with an entire thigh and drumstick. The chicken as usual here is tender and cooked just right.

The lemak Chilli Padi menu item is basically a dry curry chicken, almost like rendang. And its damn spicy and shiok. And its only on menu on Monday-Wednesdays only.

Price a little steep if u ask me, $14.80 for nasi lemak.

Noticed theres a Price increased since last visit, Ayam Berempah leg nasi lemak used to be $8.80, then it was $9.80, now $11.80 already.

The last time i was here at Wild Coco, I had the Ayam Berempah. This time round had the Chicken Curry drumstick. Saw quite a few tables ordered this.

The curry was very good, but $11.80 is really too pricey for just a drumstick.

Nasi lemak was consistently good, sambal tasted good and wasn't very spicy.

the portions here were really generous with a huge chicken leg served :) especially loved the rice which was sufficiently coconutty and the owner shared that they used fresh coconut milk and not the canned ones to make the rice which gives it that extra fragrant oomph! the owner here is rly down to earth and receptive to feedback which is nice :) and he shared that with the stock of fresh chicken coming in they would be using that soon instead of the frozen chicken so I’ll excited to come back and try that!

would also recommend trying their lemongrass grass jelly honey drink as it was very well done and was super refreshing too.

bought some of their kuehs too and it goes really well with their coconut ice cream! however I gobbled it down before I could take a good picture of it.

I think an additional perk is that there is hdb parking right outside the shop which makes it convenient if not the next nearest mrt is probably boon keng

Finally checked this nasi lemak joint off my to try list! When we reached here, there was only the Ayam Berempah Leg option left so that’s what we got! The fried chicken leg was the star of the show - it was nicely marinated with a fragrant flavour and was pretty juicy too! Also, I love the sambal chilli, so savoury with some spice! I just wished the rice could have been slightly more ‘lemak’ but I guess it’s to balance out all the richness already on the plate. Will definitely be back!

Had previously been to Wild Ccoo when they had first opened their doors at 7 Days Coffeeshop at Blk 122 McNair Road to give their Nasi Lemak a go. Felt that their Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah was a pretty impressive offering back then — a rather competent variant that can be matched to other offerings which are served up by similar establishments of the likes of The Coconut Club and Dickson Nasi Lemak. Wild Coco has since expanded their offerings to also include a small selection of Kueh — think items such as Kueh Bingka, Kueh Ko Swee, Kueh Dadar and Kueh Jaggung.

We visited Wild Coco in the late afternoon closer to dinner service and note that there are limited quantities of Kueh at the time despite all the Kuehs listed on the menu still being available during our visit. Found ourselves going for the Kueh Bingka, Kueh Dadar and Kueh Ko Swee — all that paired with a mug of Iced Kopi on the side. Between the three Kueh that we have ordered, we found the Kueh Dadar to be the most impressive of the Kueh that we have tried. The Kueh Dadar features a pandan-infused crepe layer that was not too thick; all that encasing desiccated coconut that is drenched with Gula Melaka. We found that the Gula Melaka-drenched desiccated coconut was not overly wet, yet carried a balanced, earthy sweetness that gave it sufficient flavour — a pretty well-executed variant in general, though certainly not the best. The Kueh Ko Swee and the Kueh Bingka both could have been better however; the former whilst carrying a deep hint of an earthy sweetness from the Gula Melaka, did come with a slight hint of alkaline-y finish from the baking soda — the Kueh Bingka on the other hand was a little too wet and sticky to our own preferences, perhaps also due to the fact that the Kueh has been left in the basket for a while since it was prepared.

Whilst Wild Coco’s Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah was something which we look forward to savouring again soon, their selection of Kuehs does seem to have quite some room for improvements. They are decent no doubt, but we did wish that they were done with an artisan touch considering how they have done so with their Nasi Lemak offerings — with the exception of the Kueh Dadar, we do feel like we had expected a bit more out of the other Kuehs that we have had. That being said, we are still looking forward to what Wild Coco has to offer in the future — glad that they have attempted to expand their offerings to include that of other coconut-based items such as Kueh; certainly would work really well if they can continue to refine on them further.
