Still hands down the best Hawker centre Western food. You may complain about the 1.5h wait, but hold your frustrations till you have taste a bite of their mains and side dishes. At just $6.60, the grilled chicken chop comes with 2 generous side dishes, and I picked their most popular 2, the herb potato and mushroom rice. The grilled chicken itself is not only really tender, succulent and flavourful, the skin is crispy and the sauce given adds on another dimension! Really a perfect chicken chop. The herb potato has this umami flavour going on which makes it so delicious. The mushroom rice is garlicky and flavourful as well!

The Grilled Catfish ($7.20) was also fresh and somehow it also had a crispy crust just like fried fish cutlets. Loved the dill sauce! The coleslaw and fries were okay, but just go for the 2 popular sides.

So sad that they ran out of their fried chicken cutlets, because the last time I had them they were so good too!

Tucked in the corner of Singapore Island, at Pasir Ris Hawker Centre, this grilled chicken chop ($5.90) with mashed potato sides and vegetables makes my tummy so happy! It is well cooked, tender chicken, and the mashed potato is my favourite! I also add on $1 for the soup of the day( Pumpkin in the pic) yummy!

🍽️ Wild Olives' Grilled Pork Chop with herbs potato and coleslaw $5.80 + pumpkin soup $1

🍖 The pork chop is tender and grilled to perfection with a little charred at the side. It comes with a mushroom sauce with slices of mushrooms in it.
🥗 There's a tanginess to the coleslaw which is refreshing.
🥔 The herb potato is a tad overpowering for me. The herb season is nice but it might be the worschester sauce that's a tad too sweet for me.
🍵 The spiced pumpkin soup is nice. The spice cuts through the creaminess of the soup.

Overall it's totally worth the price for the quality and quantity of the food. Just note that the queue is always long and you need at least 1hour of waiting time. Queue start forming 45mins before its opening.

Finally, after a gruelling 1+ hour queue, finally I got to eat it.

Long long long snaking queue, during a weekday dinner timing.

Would have been better if they have a buzzer system instead of everyone queuing and waiting for the food to be cook. Imagine grilling the meat and serve 1 by 1.

Food wise, the best chicken chop I ever eaten this year. Simply excellent. The grilled herb potato sides was also very good and flavourful.

The brocoli and carrot, just don't get it, worst sides ever. Carrot was hard and dry

On the other hand, i quite enjoyed the grilled catfish ($6.50) which came with crusty exterior and the creamy dill sauce was good but not enough for the whole portion of fish. The fries that we got for this dish was just very fried and overly salty though.

Have been wanting to try out the food at Wild Olives (Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre) for more than 2 years! Finally tried it recently, but having set my expectations too high, I think i will only eat it once and that's it, especially when we had to wait in line for 1 hour!

Wanted to try the mushroom soup and mashed potato but it was already sold out by the time we ordered on a sat evening. Tried the most popular grilled chicken chop with mushroom rice and grilled herb potatoes ($5.90), but uh it tasted pretty normal to me, not mindblowing. The chicken chop was tender, but it did not have much marination. The mushroom rice which I was very keen on trying turned out to taste something like dry glutinuous rice (luo mi fan) to me, with a very heavy shallot oil taste. The grilled herb potatoes was more like the korean ja jiang mian kind/ dark soya sauce, and I found it toooo salty! There was no herby taste at all? haha

one word that summarise this visit = salty. haha it left us soo thirsty that we had to buy a bottle of water from the drinks stall haha. Plus, I always dont get stores which make customers stand in line to wait. Why not take the orders and have a queue calling system to call customers when food is ready? To me, it is just making the stall seem very popular so that more ppl will be curious and join in the queue. As a customer, it is not a nice experience to stand in line to wait for 1 hour?

But ok la the food was affordable. If no queue can eat.
