Looks like you can’t go wrong with the Winestone Signature Burger ($27++). The portion was large, the wagyu patty tender, and there was a generous serving of portobello mushroom. That might be a minus if you do not enjoy mushrooms, as the taste often overshadowed the other components of the burger.

Ordered the ragout tagliatelle ($25++), which turned out to be a fancy beef bolognese that still isn’t the best out there :’( The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce rich. However, dish felt cheap with the use of ground beef that didn’t have much bite to it. It also turned out to be jelak / fairly overwhelming about halfway through the dish. Perplexing as they are generous with the ingredients for the seafood risotto (also heavy tasting, but very much worth its price point). But worth a mention that service was good :)

TL;DR you really have to love beef bolognese to enjoy this dish (which I did), but likely leave feeling cheated.

The braised seafood risotto ($28++) was easily my favourite. The short grains had a great bite, and I was impressed with the rich seafood bisque! Every mouth was a burst of creamy flavours. The portion of seafood was extremely generous - there were crayfish, mussels, prawns and even scallops?! Each component was fresh and succulent, retaining its natural sweetness. It can get overwhelming with its strong flavours and large serving, so this is best shared. But I’ll be back for this! 🌟

Winestone’s signature burger ($27++) sure has a following amongst its diners! It features brioche buns with onion marmalade and mustard. The wagyu patty was tender and juicy but slightly lacking in flavour. The portobello mushrooms actually overwhelmed most of the other components, including the cambert cheese.

Had our reservations when ordering the ragout tagliatelle ($25++), given the many reviews lamenting its use of minced meat. The pasta itself was al dente with a good bite, the sauce thick and tangy. Unfortunately, it felt too much like a bolognese with the ground beef. Would have appreciated the use of better cuts of beef, especially given the price point and setting!

The seared scallops ($16++) won us over immediately - tucked in between slices of spiced Spanish chorizo, the scallops were fresh and succulent. Super sweet on its own! They paired well with the crushed peas and truffle cream. We also ordered the mediterranean mess ($10++, not pictured), comprising homemade Lebanese flatbread with spreads. The truffle butter, tomato pesto and tapenade were strong in flavour but a tad salty!
