Note: I had it at bugis junction basement not hougang mall as stated...
Hey,
I’m new here

Suitable for:
If you are rushing for an appt around in bugis and you are craving for some comfort food.

Damage done:
7 to 10, depending of what additional vegetables you add.

USP:
The flavouring done right and they really wo(r)ked in front of you. I favoured the udon over fried rice which should be paired with the dark sauce.

WOK HEY has many great things going for it: you get to customise the ingredients you want to add to your dish, watch the chefs toss your dish in their woks, and savour a delectable stir-fry dish that is worth waiting for.

The Egg Fried Rice ($5) with extra spinach (+$1) hits the spot with just enough ‘wok hei’ without the cloyingly oily taste that you might usually get with other dishes with ‘wok hei’. The egg fried rice is almost on par to Din Tai Fung’s egg fried rice in my opinion. Plus, you get to upgrade to premium brown jasmine rice for free if you want to :)

As the name suggests, this egg fried rice was full of wok hei flavour and fragrance, freshly prepared and fried on a wok upon order (swipe to the end to view). The egg fried rice comes with your choice of grilled chicken, beef or seasoned prawns and also optional additional toppings as well. In addition, u can opt for a switch to brown rice at no additional cost! ✌🏻The fried rice was cooked with 2 eggs incorporated within, along with garnishes of spring onions, sprinkles of salt (recalling from my observation as I witness the open kitchen concept), resulting in a full-bodied wok hei flavour and aroma. The prawns were fresh, plump and well seasoned, along with crunchy broccoli and shreds of stir fried egg, the side of chilli was an optional condiment which I certainly did not regret getting and wished I had requested for more! ✨ It came with a tinge of spice and aroma that was certainly a great complement to the egg fried rice. Though the wait can be a little long as each order if freshly prepared on the spot, but hey, you can always spend the waiting time witnessing the open kitchen concept that’s pretty cool IMO! 😎
