In the mood for a hunky slab of red meat, I just had to upgrade the @diningcitysingapore Nespresso Restaurant Week 3-course lunch set ($48) at Wooloomooloo! At a top-up of $20, the medium 250 Day Grain Fed Nebraskan USDA Prime Rib Eye was a well-executed cut. Though it looked a little overcooked at first, the rib eye was succulent and tender. The crust on the outside was just right. Served with charred broccoli, creamy chive mash, and peppercorn sauce, the flavour of the protein was also pretty on point - savoury, flavourful but not overly meaty or cloying.
Got this ribeye, it was so good and really worth. $88 for 340grams, 250-day grain fed, 4 weeks wet aged. View is not bad too and quite family friendly!
$79 for 340g; 150 day grain fed, 3-4 weeks wet aged, from Australia
One of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten! We ordered the filet minon too which was more expensive but found the ribeye to be more well cooked, at a steak doneness of medium. The first bite was heavenly! You can taste the tenderness and juiciness of the meat, the chargrill flavour on the outside, and just the right amount of fat, all in one mouthful for an umami explosion.
You also don’t need to fret over choosing just one sauce or mustard for your steak as all the options are served to you. The Red Wine Madeira sauce was my personal favourite, couldn’t get enough of it.
Served as a complimentary appetiser. It was very yummy- the onions on top were extremely fragrant, crust was crispy, and the inside was soft and airy with that lovely doughy bread flavour!
At $14, the portion was rather generous and looks bigger in real life than pictured! Can be shared. However, the ratio of sweetness to sourness was not right. I personally prefer a more sour lemon meringue tart but this was sweeter. Too much of the meringue cream and not enough of the lemon lime filling.
Creamy scrambled eggs cooked with creme fraise, served on a piece of bread, topped with a crispy piece of bacon and finished with a spoon of caviar. Nice presentation and the scrambled eggs are definitely one of the best I've tasted. Bacon was crispy and the caviar was good too. The dish gets messy very easily though but I personally don't mind.
