This is my first time trying a Bread and Butter Pudding! The dessert was beautifully presented - A plump and fluffy bread drenched with a copious amount of custard cream sauce. I initially thought that the bread will be lightly crisp but it’s actually soft and moist! Somehow the rich yet light custard cream reminds me of Werther’s Original caramel candy!

Served with a scoop of smooth vanilla ice cream, we slowly sink our teeth into the soft texture of the spongey pudding and savoured every morsel of it. This is a sweet dessert that’s enjoyable without being cloying.

A sweet end to the otherwise savoury meal - Rich and chocolatey warm brownie topped with a scoop of smooth vanilla ice cream. I particularly love the addition of the almond crumbles and pistachios which gives the dessert an added crunch factor. I really like the textural contrast here and the fact that the brownie was served warm!

The ribeye was tender and flavorful. It tastes good by itself but if you’d like to, pair it with their red wine jus. Would recommend you to dip it lightly only as the red wine jus was very salty. I love the mushrooms but it was slightly salty too.

Overall, i think the 1st and 2nd courses were well-executed but slightly on the saltier end. Hence, would recommend you to top it up and get the premium cut since you’re already there!

I enjoyed this dish alot! The sauce was very tasty and flavorful but salty! The clams were fresh and the ciabatta was toasted crisp and light! Super shiok to dip the crisp toasted ciabatta in the umami sauce.

Decided to head down to @wooloomooloosteakhousesg during Autumn 2020 Restaurant Week. The restaurant boasts a classic steakhouse fare with pleasant ambience and picturesque view of the city.

They started off each table with some complimentary onion focaccia. I always welcome the idea of some warm, soft, fluffy and crisp toast/bread to start off a meal. The bread served at @wooloomooloosteakhousesg was very fragrant and topped with onion. However, it was slightly tough.

I had the lunar new year set menu (available from 20 Jan to 8 Feb) at $48++ per pax.

1st course - Lo Hei King Salmon Tartare (5/5)
A modern rendition of the classic lo-hei with generous portions of pink juicy raw salmon, salmon roe and golden crackers. I dont eat raw food but this got five thumbs up from my husband.

2nd course - Braised USDA short rib linguine (3.5/5)
The dish had oriental notes in my view. The beef tasted amazing though the pasta was nothing special.

3rd course - Great southern pinnacle Australian grass-fed sirloin (4/5)
Beef was seasoned very well and the pea shoots at the side were sauteed perfectly. I didnt give this 5/5 because the XO butter was a little too much and covered the natural fragrance of the meat. Unfortunately I ate this a little late and the butter melted over most of my steak.

Dessert - Pineapple tart (3/5)
A deconstructed version of a pineapple tart albeit with coconut ice cream. I didnt think that the butter crumble or pineapple marmalade tasted great. Ironically I liked the coconut icecream the most in the dish.
