Wooshi is this new joint at Causeway Point where sushi does a lot of crazy things. Like hanging out with kimchi, melted cheese, mala and Nutella. And mixing with Australian street artists to create pop packaging and funky uniforms. Come say hello to Psycho Kim, Fiery Fatima, Two-face Tina and others in this merry gang of rolls and bowls. Or make your own from ingredients that push your taste buds to places they never knew existed.

Giving many of the eateries specialising in customisable sushi rolls and salad bowls a run for their money, Wooshi’s offerings are pretty varied with local twists like Chilli Crab sauce and Grilled Otah as well as the classic Korean and Japanese influences.

Choosing to DIY the Wooshi bowl ($7.90), each will get a choice of one main (protein), one sauce, two toppings for that extra crunch and three fillers layered on a base (Green Mix, Furikake White Rice, Warm Brown Rice and Warm Sweet Potato Noodles). Having a choice of warm or cold proteins, I had the warm Thai-style Beef complete with Sweet Fish Floss, Bonito Furikake, Sliced Avocado, Roasted ‘shrooms, Tempura Enoki and greens.

The portion was substantial and what stood out for me were the beef and fish floss. For those who prefer a heavier tasting salad bowl, like me, the floss provided a good dose of sweetness and saltiness to the bowl which might not be for everyone but I really liked it and the meat was well seasoned. As for the sauce, I picked Yoozoo Sesame which had the zing and fragrance of yuzu - a pleasant change from the accustomed sesame dressing. And now with Burpple 1-for-1 deal, I can play around with the options for my next bowl or sushi!

yummy and tasty wooshi bowl with mala sauce give it a unique taste to it! I like their sweet potato noodle with avocado , boiled egg and tempura enoki. 😋😋a healthy option for your lunch / dinner . It is so filling! and cheap that cost $7.90 per bowl

Where noodle bowl meets Mala mayhem🔥

You probably didn't know but Wooshi is actually set up by the people behind Salad Stop as well as the co founder of Maki-San. That definitely explains the likeness...

The bowl comes with sweet potato noodles, smoked duck, pickled lotus, cucumber, grilled tofu, carrot, crushed peanuts, sesame mix and most importantly Mala lava sauce. I have to say I'm pretty impressed by the marriage of flavours and ingredients. I guess that's why they have almost perfect Google Ratings of 4.9⭐️.
Wowww... I can’t wait to savour their rolls too!!!

Pick up a quick meal to-go from this kiosk in Causeway Point. Order the Angry Lee ($8.90) for sweet potato noodles doused in a spicy mala sauce, topped with smoked duck, pickled lotus and grilled tofu. Also good is the Bangkok Betty ($8.90) that sees brown rice buried in Thai-style beef stew and served with tamago, mixed cabbage and a delectable Thai chilli sauce.
