This is hardly a porridge, the flavour profile is so different from the norm. It's v eggy but otherwise hard to describe. Strong savouriness and a lot of well marinated pork slices. Pretty salty too from the numerous marinated pork slices.

I don't particularly like it but I have to admit it's unique and from the long queue clearly a lot of people like it. They move quite quickly though

This was really quite good; the long queues are not for nothing! The porridge had a great consistency - somewhere in between thick canto porridge & runny Teochew porridge. It’s also nicely seasoned, not bland like the porridge u eat when you’re sick. Fish slices didn’t have the θ…₯ε‘³/fishy smell! Would definitely return to have more :)

Chunky, classic hawker fare. $3 for this simple bowl of porridge.
Sweet memories.

This pork porridge have been my favourite since young! Especially their minced pork!!!! The taste can't find it elsewhere. I will ask them for extra minced pork. My grandma will buy almost everyday. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ Last time they will put liver, but nowadays seldom ppl eating it. They have fish & chicken porridge too. But pork still my favourite!

Their operation hours is abit off though. Morning & evening shift. I remember once I was there about 11am they are closing stall already. Best time to go there is 9-10am to avoid disappointment. For evening they start from 6pm. Closed on Monday.

I usually go for pork congee instead of fish congee because the fish is often tasteless and overcooked

Xiang Ji is probably the only stall I know where the queue disappears once the stallholder announces that they have sold out their fish congee. Their fish congee comes with fried dough fritters, coriander, chye poh. I think the use of chye poh makes the congee much more savoury. The fish is also tender and tasty.
