The soups from 香浓老火汤 at Maxwell Food Centre (#01-86) are consistently good. The Apple and Pear Pork Rib Soup ($4.50 + $1 for yam rice) is very sweet and comforting. The apple and pear melt in your mouth instantly and the pork ribs are so soft that the soft bones have a jelly-like consistency. Love the pairing with the yam rice too. Soup fix of the week checked!

The Lotus Root Peanut Pork Rib Soup ($4.50) from 香浓老火汤 at Maxwell Food Centre (#01-86) is perfect for the chilly weather lately. The soup is robustly flavoured, the peanuts and lotus roots add a nice crunch but what impressed me the most is the pork ribs - they are so thoroughly simmered that the meat falls apart without effort and the soft bone/ cartilage is of jelly consistency. Simple and comforting!

The Herbal Chicken Soup ($6.50) from 香浓老火汤 at Maxwell Food Centre (#01-86) is very rich and sweet. The soup is packed with red date, ginkgo, longan and goji berry, and every scoop contains a lot of ingredients. The chicken is so tender that the meat literally falls off the bone. The mushroom absorbs the essence of the soup fully and is an amazing burst of flavours🤤 Paired with yam rice, the meal is hearty and satisfying - I could see myself returning again for a soup fix!

Nourishing soup and yam rice
