Starring Sesame Crusted Tuna slices – pan-seared till crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside, best consumed with Chef’s Concoction of Pineapple Sauce resembling gold. Available for dining in and takeaway.

Using only the freshest ingredients, the well-blended mix of lobster with egg white and crab roe oozes umami with each bite.

A spin-off from one of Xin’s bestseller Baked Sea Perch with Japanese Miso Sauce味增焗鲈鱼. Homely heartwarming dish that reminds me of my grandma who used to cook some dishes using the Chinese Rice Wine.

This truffle dish describes my experience at Xin Cuisine. Many of the items tasted good, but the restaurant should work on the presentation of the items for the price it is charging. More memorable items for me taste wise were the Cordyceps Flower in fish bone broth, pork in BBQ (this took 30 mins for one portion, the staff told me I have to wait 45 mins at first) and claypot tofu with sea cucumber. All other items are above average but like I mentioned, for the price point and the ingredients used, they should put in more thought into the presentation. Seems like one can use Chope vouchers also but apparently it doesn’t apply for dim sum items.

Gotta try their two new flavours this year: White Lotus Seedpaste with Rosemary Honey Praline and Singapore Sling Praline! For traditional mooncake lovers, check out their mini egg custard with yolk!

Before they closed, the service staff said it’s not the restaurant seating area they are renovating, it’s the kitchen behind that needs to be done. So true to what was told, the seating area still looks the same. Guess what? The same people are dining too, coz they looked familiar. Anyway, we are back for more Roasted Duck. Still as tasty and the little one now wants to eat the skin. She wants pieces with lots of skin! We used to take away the skin from her. She must have wondered why.... The Wife decided to order something that we haven’t ordered before this time. Clams! We have been eating the same dishes over and over. (Photo 1 and 3! Coz it’s comfort food and we feel very satisfied eating it!) The clams are pretty good and quite big too. Lots of shredded ginger and Szechuan veg. It has huge ‘hint’ of Chinese wine, so it’s really fragrant which means no no for kids but adults are happy slurping it away. The claypot vegetarian dish with fermented bean curd, tang hoon and all sorts of mushrooms and fungi (wood ear, golden needle) is still as homey tasting. Just the other day, a friend said he’s beginning to like ‘old people food’. Is this old people food? Lol! My little toddler loves it!
