Honestly did not expect this shopping mall prawn mee to be good, but this was GOOD. The soup was so flavourful and thick, and had a tinge of sweetness which I liked (but some might not!). The pork ribs was oh so tender but the prawns were soo hard to get out of their shell. One thing was that they only offered chilli padi but I preferred the chilli powder served in other outlets. Will come back to try their dry and the new paofan version.

This prawn mee place have aircon 😬 but that aside, the food here is pretty good. Ordered the signature prawn mee (soup) + regular pork and prawn mee (dry) and both were good! The broth is damn thick and gao, super sedap. Prawns were also fresh. And the ribs homaigosh so TENDER. Also got their ngoh Hiang which was 👌🏻👌🏻

Sorry but this looked better than it tasted.
Everything was just too sweet, from the broth to the noodles and even its homemade barley drink.

Prawns were ok, but the pork slices had a bad porky taste. Price point (~$8.80) was fine too I guess, for the location and comfortable setting.

The prawn soup was flavorful but their chili added to the dry prawn noodle wasn’t that awesome. The prawns are fresh.

(S$6.80)

Coupled that it was prawn mee, which was just irresistible to us.
We had their 3-treasure prawn mee with pork ribs and tail, a dry and a soup version, to find out which we would prefer. Unfortunately, we didn’t really enjoy both of them.
The soup was flavourful and rich with all that prawn stock one would desire; but it was a little salty for us. Our prawns were pretty big but we couldn’t find those umami roe in the heads that we loved, although the meat was still good. The pork ribs were disappointing. Not the tender juicy meat and they tasted separate from the prawn mee itself.
So we later learnt that Xing Ji relocated from Suntec. Not our favourite prawn mee, but guessed this would still be 1 place to share a popular local dish with those within the comfort of the shopping mall.
